November 10th, 2011

3:45 am - My group knocks on my car where I'm catching a few hours of sleep. It's time to pack it up and go loiter for the 6 am wristband event.
The security has no clue what's going on. They give off false info about where we're supposed to congregate.

5:00 am - By this time there are two groups of loiterers. A smallish one on the corner of Chuck Hern and Fig and a larger group on the corner of Olympic and Georgia.
We've got people in both places, we're calling and texting each other. We finally decide that the parking lot where Summit is having fans park (Lot 4) on Olympic and Georgia is the place to be.
We make our way over to the parking lot (which is completely empty) and wait. As per the rules, we don't form a line but plenty of people want to make/start one.
At one point, there is a large group in the back of the lot and a large group in the front. This doesn't last long when security shows up, the group in the back starts running up to the front.

6:00 am - Charles (Sweden) and his security group of three arrive. They yell at us to get back off the sidewalk and off the flag stones and into the parking lot proper. Their plan is to pull people and groups at random and escort them to the wrist band line.
Lots of pushing, yelling out and holding up hands with how many in your group, etc.
I'm in a group of 14. We all hold arms and hands tight and put our youngest and cutest up front. Everyone is shouting around us but we tell her to stay calm and cool. When security looks her way she bashfully says:

Cute Representitive: "14?"
Security Guy: "14? Really? We tried that before, it didn't work."
CR: "But look," we raise our claspt hands "we're all holding hands."
SG: "Ok, just you 14, come through."

We try to snake are way through but people will try to ride your coat tails in. We had to pause a few times to shake them off but all of us made it.

6:30 am - Our group are in the 30s to 40s but there was one dude taking names to get a wrist band. They were going 10 at a time. It was taking forever and after being awake and standing the whole time, I was so exhausted. Hunger was setting in and Nokia/Summit should have had a snack bar because they would have made a killing.

Finally, with wrist band on, we get assigned our concrete spaces. We grab our tents from the car and start making camp. Our ragtag group takes up almost an entire row.
Morning/Afternoon - It takes them forever to get people through. They don't get everyone's names down. When it starts getting dark, they pass out wrist bands and told them to come back at 9 am tomorrow to "register" it (give them your name and email).

Last year, there were ~500ish wristbands given out. This year, it's sounding like 1,100.
Last year, we filed up the Nokia plaza and spilled out onto Chuck Hern within some barricades. This year, the Nokia Plaza is packed, the second camp is bigger and packed, and they created a third area (on the fly) as a temperary camping place [map to come].

What new: Summit with Yahoo! Movies set up a Twi-fi lounge between main camp and camp #2. They offer up free wi-fi (not worth it b/c it's very slow), a great place to take pics because it looks like there's a wedding reception in the forest, lots of giveaways everyday, and free pictures with a wedding life size Edward wearing (optional) wedding dresd, veil and bouquet. There's also a replica wedding cake too. The seating inside looks like tree stumps. It's really nice.

8:00 pm - As a treat for fans, they show "Twilight" on the big jumbo tron and serve free popcorn at the Twi-fi lounge. Lots of screaming, especially every time Edward is on screen.
[Friday] 12:00 am - Kiowa Gordon (Embry Call) shows up with his band to talk to fans. They even did an acoustic song for their admirers.

November 11, 2011

Afternoon - More give aways at the Twi-fi lounge with check-ins on Facebook and answering trivia correctly. They were giving away t-shirts, sweatpants, gift cards to Starbucks, copies of the soindtrack, umbrellas and probably more. I got my t-shirt, I just have to shed a few pounds first to wear it.

5:00 pm - Tinsel Korey (Emily in the movie) comes by tent city to surprise fans. A huge line forms for pictures and a few autographs but she was there mostly for pictures. [Video below]

8:00 pm - We all watch "New Moon" on the big screen at the Nokia Plaza. Screaming every time Edward and ab packing Jacob show up. Instead of popcorn, they server purple cotton candy.

10:30 pm - Movie ends. Kellan Lutz, who was promoting his movie "Immortals" at The Grove, comes by Tent City to say hello to fans. Screaming and chaos ensues.

Night/Morning - It rains!

November 12, 2011

10:00 am - A special (Oprah like) appearance by the created herself, Stephenie Meyer. She, with a team holding up black Breaking Dawn umbrellas, brave the cool morning to individually pass out signed copies of Breaking Dawn. She was also taking pictures with pretty much everyone who asked for a photo. She spent a lot of time meeting her admirers. The most poignant part of the event was the calm hush over the fans. Unlike when Kellan came by the night before, the crowd was relatively quiet (in awe and in honor I'm thinking). [Video below]

4:00 pm - Charlie Bewely takes the stage (that was set up over night) to MC the special concert supporting and staring bands of the Breaking Dawn soundtrack. Charlie brings the jokes and dance moves as he fills time and introduces each band.

The first group up is actually Mia Maestro who plays Carmen, a member of the Denali Coven, in Breaking Dawn pt 1. The other groups that were there included Imperial Mammoth, Cider Sky, Sleep at Last, Lucy Schwartz, & Aqualung. The did mini sets of three songs and their special track featured on the soundtrack.

Us Twilight fans weren't the only ones watching the concert. Director Bill Condon and Producer Wyck Godfrey were seen taking pictures and signing autographs with fans. Charlie was also signing for fans surreptitiously by the barricades.

7:30 pm - On the big screen in Nokia Plaza, they show Kristen Stewart's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Screams across the entire plaza. Then they play Rob's appearance on Jimmy Fallon. Screams of what sounds like orgasms and slaughtered sheep could be heard from all around.

8:00 pm - After the late night spots, they play Eclipse for us. Candy stripers (from the future?) dresses in sparklie black, pass out a variety of candy to the screaming viewers. After the movie a young wolf pack member who played Colin in the movie, was by visiting Tent City (though no one knew who he was).

11:30 pm - Everyone staying in camping area #1 (main Nokia Plaza) needs to be moved to camp #4 (in back of camp #2 and inside The Staples Center courtyard) by 6 am the next morning so that they can set up the red carpet.

November 13, 2011

6:00 am - Tents and everyone in camp #1 is gone and they start taking down the protective rain barrier and start assembling the red (actually black) carpet.

11:00 am - The Corner Bakery came by with muffins, bagels and orange juice for everybody at Tent City but what really got the fans screaming were the celebrity visits. Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen), Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Cullen), Booboo Stewart (Seth), MyAnna Burning (Tanya Denali), & Casey LaBow (Kate Denali) came by and were so generous with their time. Pictures, autograph, stories, etc. Summit handed out mini poster, paper fans and Breaking Dawn t-shirts along with a bunch of left over candy from the night previous.

Afternoon - People start to congregate around some young guy, snapping his picture taking his autograph. So of course we go over there and ask him where he's from. Apparently, according to him, he's part of the wolf pack but has no clue what his character's name is. He signed my book "Nic somethingsomething". I Google that shit but the only thing that makes sense is that he plays Brady but according to Twi Wiki he's played by Swo wo Gabriel but the thing is, he looks like the guys signing my book but with a severe hair cut.

Early evening - As I'm about to pack up and leave for the hotel, a friend runs by and says "Melissa Rosenberg is here!" I've got my book in hand and my camera around my neck and I'm making a bee line for her. She looks like she just got back from a meeting or a speech because she's in a suit all dressed up. She spends a good amount of time for the remaining people in Tent City.

9:00 pm - So, from our original group, five of us are in my hotel room and a handful of us stayed behind to stick it out in Tent City one more night (their hotel was a dive and sleeping on the street was more sanitary). We're charging our phones and listening to music when a friend (let's call her Alice) calls me and screams "OHH MY GOD!!! ROB AND KRISTEN ARE HERE!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" *click*

My hotel room erupts into frantic movements. I'm changing, we're getting someone out of the shower, we're popping gum and heading out the door and all pile in my car. I'm in the middle of the street when "Alice" calls me back. "They're not here," she says. "We're just having some fun blah blah blah."

Someone updates her Facebook, then it goes to Twitter and three minutes later some serious panic starts to set in. They squelch it as fast as they can but some people are not happy. They're the ones sitting at home and not experiencing the screaming and the frantic chase to locate Sharpies. Good times.

November 14, 2011

12:00 am - After calming down (somewhat) after the prank that launched a hotel room of frantic girls, we had went to sleep until I get a phone call from our friends still out there camping out. They called to tell us that everything from "Tent City" needs to be gone by 6 am. We grumble a bit and set an alarm for 5 am.

5:00 am - Wake up, head down to Tent City and practally throw everything in the tunks and back seats of cars. Head back to the hotel and fall back asleep.

8:30 am ? - I finally get up really really really groggy. We shower and change and check out.

11:00 am - Food at Denny's. This will be the only chance we get to eat real food for the rest of the day.

1:00 pm - Get gas, go to the bank, park and dump out everything we don't want to carry all day in the cars and head down to Starbuck at LA Live. There are already a mass of people loiterng outside waiting for their appointed line up time. They gave us rules on Saturday and at the bottom it told you an approximate time to be in front of the Nokia Theater to line up according to your wrist band number. The first 300 was to line up at 2 pm but they were calling for us to line up at 1:30 pm. This paniced some because they were planning on going to the bathroom first but they have at least 1,000 more people to go so for furture reference, do what you need to do then line up. It's ok.

2:20 pm (ish) - Since my group was lucky enough to be in the first 50 people, we started to head into the barricades. We were ultimately placed in the front row, in the middle, facing the sill photographers (papparatzzi). Instead of the metal barricades dividing the fan area into corralls, they had sand barrals so sideways movement within the rows was fluid. I don't know how I feel about this. I like the section dividers because less people are pushing at you less from all sides. It also keeps people in the designated areas.

We're facing the sun but it dipped below the building at round 4:15 pm. In the meantime, Yahoo Movies was getting the kinks worked out for their live stream of the red carpet that started at 5:00 pm.

Ultimately, they lined us up four people deep. The last row were standing ontop of raised platforms. The girls directely behind me were in the very low 200s.

When the barricades were filled, they starting filling the stands that were set up on Chuck Hern street on the opposite side of the black carpet entrance on the left side of apporaching cars. Celebrities who just arrive, made their way over to these fans first before stepping onto the carpet.

This year, it felt like there were twice as many people attending so when they started coming through, it was a bombardment of stars and flashbulbs. They didn't play any music related to anything I think because of the Yahoo Movies commentary.

This was really tough to navigate because there are so many new cast members and you have no idea what they look like and those that you do know are unrecognizable because they're all dressed up. It's not until they're right on top of you that you realize who they are and start screaming their name.

A lot of the time the stars will just have their picture taken for a few minutes then turn around and start signing and taking pictures with people really rapidly. Some celebrities just walked down and took pictures. Their handlers promised that they would bring them back to sign but they're lying, flaming bags of shit.

Imagine a U2 concert, now multiply the sound by 10 and you might come close to the screaming when Rob, Kristen and Taylor showed up. I'm not a small girl but I was loosing circulation everywhere when Rob was by and I had a mass of girls pushing behind me.

I got what I wanted. A poster signed by the main three and a picture with Rob that makes my heart skip a beat when I see it. *happy sigh*

The black carpet is over before you know it and you're just praying that you're pictures are halfway decent. A Summit representative comes down and announces that they have enough tickets for everyone to go inside the theater and see the movie.

8:00 pm We gradually make our way inside where we have to throw away all of our Sharpies and check in all of our electronics. Free soda, popcorn and commemorative cups await us as we make are way up to the Mezzanine level. We don't have to wait long before the lights dim and the screaming that was manageable outdoors is now confined in the theater and my ears throb for a good two minutes into the movie when they flash the Summit logo and Breaking Dawn title.

The movie erupts into screams and subsequent shushing every 5 minutes or so. Nothing like watching a movie for the first time with 5,000 of your closest friends.

Albeit to say, Bill Condon knows what he's doing. It's a phenomenal movie. Best one yet. It's going to make so much money off of me. I'm contemplating spending all day Friday in the movie theater.

The only downer to seeing right then is leaving the theater. You have to claim your electronics down stairs and it take forever. We finally exit the theater just before midnight which is really late seeing as how the movie is less than 2 hrs long. It was completely worth it though.

So, are we ready for Friday? Bring tissues! You have been warned!

Grauman's Chinese Theater Ceremony

We did it! Strike me down if I ever complain about being too tall. My monkey arms came in handy today!

I arrived just after 4 in the morning and was 94th in line. *phew* The early birds in line slept there as evidence by the sleeping bags and cushions. At 6 am, they moved everyone to the back of Jimmy Kimmel Live (alley) then up to the corner of Hollywood and Orange. They took our names and gave us our numbers. Initially, they said that they would let in 120 people but after seeing the numbers and counting they went will 100. Good thing too because otherwise it would have been really crowded and uncomfortable. At 8:30 am, they started handing out wrist bands. Once you got these you were good to go.

It wasn't much longer that they herded us behind the barricades. The sun started rising then and we weren't looking forward to watching everything with the sun in our eyes. Luckily, the sun went behind a building and I was in glorious shade.

The ceremony started out with Jimmy Kimmel saying hello and introducing Stephenie Meyer. She said hello and thanked the actors blah blah blah. She looked really great though. I loved her dress. It was super cute. Jimmy then introduced Rob, Kristen and Taylor. They said thank you, we're so grateful, blah blah blah.

This was our view for 99% of the hand and foot printing ceremony:

No amount of screaming would get these security guards to move. It was frustrating to say the least. I took hundreds of pictures and they basically as worthless as this one.

Hand and Foot print ceremony for the Twifecta

It's Thursday night and I'm preparing for tomorrow.

Tomorrow, Rob, Kristen, and Taylor will have their hand and foot impressed into the sidewalk in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Ceremony starts ~10am but my friends and I are thinking of getting there at 4am. The line for the forecourt starts at 6am.

Based upon what I'm hearing from the back alley of Jimmy Kimmel Live where Rob is taping his interview, people from around the country and world have flown in and have invaded LA. This week is Breaking Dawn Press Junket Week.

Expect lots of pictures from everyone this week. I'll post what I can but other blogs are a lot faster than I am uploading and sharing their photos, fyi. They're all doing the late night shows and a few morning shows. Tonight, they're screening Breaking Dawn (I think at The Grove) for 700 odd people. Reading twitter and the excitement is depressing because I'm not there or in Rob's dressing room where I should be.

What I am doing and what you can expect a blog post about is the Grauman's event tomorrow, TwiCon on Saturday, and camping out and being at the Breaking Dawn premiere. I'm also going to a midnight show but that goes without saying.

Time to charge my batteries.

Sorry about my lack of updates and posts (especially on Comic Com but if you were there you know, shit goes down). I'm still alive. I update my website: The Lit of Twi and my goal is to record during "Tent City" at the Breaking Dawn premiere and using it as a podcast. We'll see how that goes.

San Diego Comic Con 2011

This will be my master post on this year's wonderful Comic Con. I was there for all four days but I'm only posting relevant "Twilight: Breaking Dawn" stuff.

Here is a quick slide show of some of the best pictures that I took. I also made a few gifs in there.

Yes, I'm still alive, I survived comic con, and will eventually spew all the gory details. I've recently bought a new MacBook and in addition to this blog, I also manage a website, podcast and local Twilight book/fan fiction club (LA County if you're interested).

Dramatic Reading a la Elizabeth Reaser

It's happened again folks. The Twilight fan fiction fans over on VH1's Morning Buzz had Elizabeth Reaser in the studio and asked her to do a dramatic reading of a fan fiction (I bet they said, "Well, Michael Sheen did it so...").

It's great. She has great enunciation. It's hard to read a story out loud. I do it for my podcast and I'm constantly tripping over my tongue. Anyway, here it is, your moment of zen.

Breaking Dawn Trailer

I wondered how long the Breaking Dawn Trailer would show up and be downloadable on the internet after it aired on the MTV movies awards that's being shown tonight. The answer: Negative 7 hours (and change).

Was the trailer stolen by some TwiHard hacker who couldn't wait? Looks like Summit did the dirty work for us and leaked it out before it aired. I'm sure MTV was thinking

So my reaction besides chanting "ohmygodohmygod", crying, panting and fanning my face in a movie theater as I'm trying to leave while watching the trailer on my phone..... I'm still recovering. I headed straight home to download and save it for all eternity and then check out the screen captures that people have done. These are some of my favorites:

Not from the trailer but I'd thought I'd start off with Breaking Dawn's tag line: Forever is only the beginning. That's so romantic. And I don't mean that in a condecending way. It really is a beautiful statement and makes me thinking of what I could possible to do ~~Rob~~ Edward for Forever.

I cannot tell you how thrilled and tickled I am that they're using his full name. They even have Masen in there. ( I thought it was Mason =P potaytoe potahtoe) My inner (and outer) nerd and fan girl is jumping up and down. It speaks to his past and it's like Edward Sr. and Elizabeth are there with him :')

The wedding right [Right] looks like an oversized version of her index finger moonstone ring, the wedding band [Left] is perfect. I love it.

I want to sit on his face.

I cannot get tired of this trailer. Imagine what the actual movie is going to me like?! Seriously, I cannot fucking wait for Comic Con in July. I hope and pray that there is a Breaking Dawn panel and that they'll be sharing some footage. Oh My Gawd, I'm shivering in anticipation just thinking about it.

Twilight Round Up

As usual, I'm going to add my two cents on recent Twilight stuff that's out there. First, my love of Twilight has been all about reading Twilight fan fiction. That's why it tickled me pink when Twilight actor Michael Sheen [Aro] went on VH1's Morning Buzz show and did a dramatic reading of one of my favorite author's story, Unexpected Circumstances. Michael Sheen Reads Unexpected Circumstances by SharonMacross

The Twilight Illustrated Official Guide came out a few weeks ago. I went to my local Borders with coupon in hand and bought it. I'm on page 6. So far, not much new stuff. My goal is to finish it by the end of the year but we'll see. Maybe I'll finish it while waiting on the Breaking Dawn red carpet premiere? It's been so long since I read the original books that I've forgotten when Steph wrote and left out and what new information the Guide could offer. Anyway, yet another book on my "To Be Read" list. You can see my incomplete list on my Good Reads account.

Also in book form. The long awaited (was anyone really waiting with anticipation for this?) is the second volume of the Twilight Graphic Novel. I wasn't going to buy this based upon the underwhelming volume two but the cover is so gorgeous. Is is the coloring? The soft pencil edges? The subject matter? I don't know but this Manga Edward is hot. It hits shelves October 11, 2011 and with coupon in hand, I'll probably buy it.

In more recent news, Melissa Rosenberg is going to be the speaker at USC for YouTube's Distinguished Series on Tuesday, May 31st. I'm thinking of attending and if I do, I'll blog about. If you want to attend (free to all), check out the Lexicon's post about it.

Also up next is the MTV Movie Awards and yes, Eclipse is up for a bunch of awards. Vote vote vote and show the world how strong our fandom can be! *evil laugh* The awards are happening Sunday, June 5 9/8c

Wow

I'm still a little awed/breathless right now. We had shirtless Monday when Rob and the cast were in Multipulciano filming the Italy scenes in New Moon. Well today, March 31 2011, is Isle Esme Thursday. Photos and video were leaked earlier in the day and the Twidom experienced a simultaneous orgasm.

I'm afraid I can't re-post anything or share links because everyone has taken down their photos at Summit's request. Let's just say you should bring an extra change of panties to the theater with you... and some Handy Wipes.

Damn... Rob's looking good... hmmm back and arm muscles...

My dive into Twi crafts

So I'm on a fun binge. My weekends are filling up quite nicely. Two weekends ago I gathered up some girlfriends and we spent several hours at a Color Me Mine. For those of you who don't know what that it, it's a crafty store that's all about painting and decorating pottery of all kinds. They have plain ceramic (?) pieces for you to paint on. You then leave it there for them to glaze and fire and then pick up the finished product.

To get the suspense out of the way. Here's my Twilight themed pasta bowl:

This bowl is based off of the first book in the Twilight series. See it? It's my version of the meadow scene with a lion and lamb in the middle surrounded by wild flowers. The outside of the bowl is painted the darker green of the edges with dark green and olive green trees to represent the forest surrounding the meadow. I love it. Needless to say, my girlfriends were oohing and ahhing over it and immediately had craft remorse.

How I did it: I had the idea of this in my head. I just didn't know how to do the lion and lamb in the middle. So I do what any savvy girl does. I Googled "lion lamb". The image on the right is what I was trying to draw. I didn't want to be quite so literal so I flipped the picture horizontally. Originally I sketched this onto the plate then started to paint. The paint started to smudge the pencil marks to I erased all but a faint few lines. They tell you that you can't paint light colors over dark so I had to paint the white of the lamb first. What I did was paint a white blob to cover the area then took the brown and a very thing brush and painted a brown outline around it. The green came next. They say to do a minimum of three layers of paint for the color not to fade after firing. I tried to leave the "lion" as empty as possible and tried to really define the bottom of the lamp. I covered the entire bowl in the new grass green. The lion is two shades of brown. It's tedious painting, waiting for it to try, and re-painting to get the colors to fix. The darker brown shows up in his mane, the tip of his take, and in his nose/mouth feature. I was going to do eyes but my brush wasn't fine enough. I started to paint a face on the lamb but the paints doesn't lead to fine lines and I quickly wiped/painted over it.

Then I covered the sides of the bowl a medium green and with a medium brush, made lots of grass strokes to represent blades of grass. I made sure that it almost touched or went over just a bit onto the bottom of the bowl into the light green. Then I took a dark green and painted the edge and the rim and re-did the blades of grass onto the medium green. Once all dry, I covered the sides of the bowl with "flowers". Dots of purple and blue, blossoms of white, petals of red and orange and hints of yellow are sporadically spread out. I didn't want to overwhelm it with too many flowers.

The outside of the bowl was painted in a similar but simpler way. All dark green with thick trunks of brown and happy little trees (ala Bob Ross) in a darker and dusty greens. I signed the bottom and called myself done. Overall, it took around two hours. I spent a lot of time hemming and hawing over little details. We're going back next month and I'm determined to not stop until I have a whole Twilight set. I'm thinking that next time, I'll paint a New Moon plate.

TwiCon LA 2011

This last weekend was Creation Entertainment's Twilight Convention (TwiCon). Special guests included Jodelle Ferland, Bronson Pelletier, Julia Jones, Tinsel Korey, Booboo Stewart, Gil Birmingham and Peter Facinelli. My friend invited me to Saturday's event and I'm not going to say no, and it was fun and very typical. This was my third convention and if you want a play by play, check out Twilight Lexicon's twitter feed.

Friday was Tinsel Korey and Julia Jones.
Saturday was Jodelle Ferland, Bronson Pelletier, Julia Jones & Tinsel Korey, Booboo Stewart and Gil Birmingham.
Sunday was Gil Birmingham, Bronson & Booboo, with Peter Facinelli ending the weekend.

Firstly as a gigantic MUSE fan, I just have to say that I'm uber happy they the trio took home the American Grammy for "Best Rock Album" for Resistance. Very well deserved. I only wanted to watch the Grammy's because they were performing. Yes, my heart was beating fast. Yes, my palms got sweating watching it. Yes, I was watching it in the dark on my lap top.

They just get better and better. My dream is to see them somewhere in Europe. Someday...

Ok so that didn't have anything to do with the title, let me explain:

Yes. I will be returning to Comic Con this summer. I'll bring my fan fic t-shirts (which have arrived and looks amazing!) but it's Comic Con so you have to dress up. I just don't know what wear. Maybe a Naruto shinobi of the Hidden Leaf Tribe? Bright red Vulturi cloak? I have a green 3/4" sleeved shirt, jeans, and blue Keds so I could be "Italy Bella". Decisions decisions.

February means Valentine's Day. If you're lucky enough to find a significant other before you found Twilight, you're probably going to spend the weekend with them. There will be chocolate covered somethings involved I'm sure.

Fan fiction merchandise

I've been wanting something to show my devotion to Twilight Fan Fiction. Maybe a bumper sticker? License plate frame?

Nope (though they're not totally out of the question). I decided that I wanted to have a t-shirt. You really can make anything nowadays. I used the fandom friendly Cafe Press to make my own creations. I wanted to represent stories that I love and that others would recognize.

My very first story into the fan fiction universe was Wide Awake by Angstgoddess003. It remains my all time favorite fic. It has everything I love in a story and it always makes me cry and sigh. It has a lot of great quotes that would make great slogans for t-shirts "I missed the shit out of you" "Shining Fucking Curls" "Red Bella White Bella" etc. But I settled on the moment that Edward knew that Bella was more than just a girl who, with real flowers and cookies, allowed him to sleep.

I love that moment! When she gets back from Arizona after the trial. Gah! I love this story.

Now once you start designing t-shirts on your favorite stories, it's hard to stop. I have several already but I only made and bought one more. The other story I'm going to wear with pride is Snowqueens Icedragon's Master of the Universe. Fifty is a classic character. The incident he has in Echo Charlie makes me cringe every time. My heart can't help but beat itself out of my chest whenever I re-read the story. It's so so good (that's what she said). It also doesn't hurt that I'm going to be waring Rob all over my chest.

It makes me want to walk in Downtown LA or at the next Kings game in Staples Center and try to make eye contact with everyone to see if they recognize the stories or their references.

So I think for sure, the next bit of merchandise will be either a license plate frame or a window decal. Is "FORKS" too subtle? I do not want a "I drive like a Cullen" plate frame. That's lame. Maybe just "Addicted to Fan Fiction" or "Caution! Lemons ahead!" What do you think? :0)

Bobby Long

I guess you can call this Twi related. It's all about making the degrees of separation between myself and Rob as small as possible. That's the goal right? Anyway, so earlier in the week I saw that Bobby Long was doing a concert out here in LA. Now if the name sounds familiar, that's because Bobby and our lovely Mr. Pattinson, are friend. He actually wrote the two songs that Rob sings in the Twilight movie. I was wavering back and fourth trying to decide if I should go to the concert or not. I really don't know any of his music. So the first thing I do is send out the call "Does anyone want to go with me??" Crickets. I probably should have given them more than a day's notice but whatev'. So around 5:30pm-ish, I decide to just go for it and go by myself. He's playing the Troubadour which is probably my favorite venue. Great place, friendly bartenders, and yummy food. It's also semi close by. I go online to buy a ticket but it's too close to show time, you have to chance it and go to the box office. So off I went.

The opener was a band called He's My Brother She's My Sister and I'm assuming that the two leads are brother and sister. They were a lot of fun. Clappy. Some of their percussion was done via tap dancing which I thought was really creative and pretty awesome. The dude on bass was actually on a double bass, not a guitar but an orchestra bass which I think has a lower more resounding tone. Anyway, they were a good.

Then Bobby comes out with his band and gets everyone all fired up with his opening song. I've no idea what it's called though. Like I said, not very familiar with his music. He played with the band for a few songs then he did his solo acoustic thing which I enjoyed the most. He did two songs for an encore. The first one was I think his most popular song since everyone, except me, was singing along to it. I tried to record the whole thing but a new friend of mine that I just met there loved the song so took my video camera down to ground level (I was sitting up top).

Flightless Night

I just got back from seeing Iron & Wine play at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. They sold out tonight and tomorrow night. He hasn't been in the southland since May 9, 2009 where he played the Troubadour. In that concert (which I also went to) he was alone and did an all acoustic set. It was amazing. His voice is pure and melancholy. This week though, he brought the band: Keyboardist, accompany guitar, two backup vocals, percussionist, drummer, bass sax, tenor sax/clarinet, and trumpet player. It was loud! I was prepared for a night of slow head nodding but this had my toes tapping.

If you're familiar with his music, he did some older tunes with quicker beats (Shepherd's Dog, Boy With A Coin) and a lot of the newer stuff from his latest album. Long guitar and brass interludes. It was fun. The crowd was rowdy in the best sense.

The band said good night and a lot of suckers left. Doesn't everyone know that the show isn't over until the house lights come on? Clapping, chanting and stomping ensue until Sam (the singer and lead guitar guy) come back onstage. A stage hand brings him is acoustic guitar. What will he play? Trapeze Swinger? Passing Afternoon? He didn't play Flightless Bird at the previous show so I wasn't hoping for that but just incase, I whip out both of my cameras (in case one of them fails, it's happened before).

What follows was an auditory miracle. A nearly a cappella Flightless Bird takes wing and submerges the audience in a hush filled worship of his voice. The video quality doesn't convey much but the audio is spot on. Enjoy!

Breaking Dawn title and random acts of Twidar

Time to jump on the bandwagon. Summit has released the title treatment for Breaking Dawn, part 1.

My first reaction was "ohhh pretty". I like the colors. It makes it seem like the sun is setting or rising. It's gold on the bottom and redish at the top. People were commenting that there are too many "lines". I suppose, it doesn't detract any for me. I keep looking at it and it seems.. big. Like Breaking Dawn is a long title compared to the others but there's no getting around that. Overall, I like it.

And of course Summit released it's first official picture from the movie.

It first showed up in issue #1138 of Entertainment Weekly magazine and then later posted online. I pretty much only look at Rob/Edward. This Adam's apple, his bicep, his feathery lashes, his bicep... Kristen/Bella has a weird face. Like a "pretend there aren't 50 people watching me naked" look. This is a fairly narrow shot. I can't help but wonder what the wide screen shot will reveal. Rob straddling Kristen? The sheet just starting to slid off his gorgeous ass. Acres and acres of exposed back. hmmmm

This was all after Bill Condon's Thanksgiving treat to all of us we he posted this little nugget.

Summit and Bill have been pretty good to us. Giving us these Easter eggs to tide us over until the movie is released. Though rarely does a day go by that I'm not thinking of Twilight, Rob and/or Edward. It's kinda sad but whatever.

Sometimes random acts of Twilight just happen without you planning it. I was listening to the news the other day and besides of two school shooting, they did a report on health care. One prevision in the plan is that my 2013, everyone is mandated to buy health insurance. Two people are suing against this because they think it's unconstitutional and one of the people suing lives in Port Angeles, WA! What are the odds.

Fandom Happenings

Hello friends. I want to start off by pointing out some really great things that are happening now in the fandom. I encourage everyone to get involved and to help each other.

Because of the recent flooding in Australia, multiple fandoms are coming together to pool their resources together to help people effected. Here's more information on the project from their website:

A group of caring and determined Aussie's are working hard to raise funds for the victims of the devastating floods that have ravaged Queensland in recent weeks. To help them in their efforts, donate at least $5 to the QLD Government Appeal, forward your receipt to fandomsfightthefloods@gmail.com, and you will receive a compliation of stories and oneshots from your favourite fic authors across the following fandoms: Twilight, Southern Vampire Mysteries (Sookie Stackhouse), The Vampire Diaries, Vampire Academy, Harry Potter, The Mortal Instruments, and more - including original pieces.

You can also contribute to the cause by donating a story/one-shot to be added to the compilation. The maximum word limit for submissions is 10,000 words and all submissions must be received by 11:59pm AEST/GMT+10 on Sunday February 20th, 2011. To register as an author, head on over to the Author Registration page and submit your information in the registration form. Once you register, an email will be sent out to you within 24 hours containing more details about your submission.

Another good cause to get behind The Fandom Against Domestic Violence founded by author buhbeesgirl. Here's most of her welcoming post that talks about why she's started this and how you can contribute.

This all started from my little story, True Love Way. I wanted to do something to give back from my writing. My story involved domestic violence issues so I decided that for each review/author alert/story alert/story favorite I received that I would donate $.10 of my own personal money to NCADV. So far I have raised almost $200 just from that little venture. But I know we can do more!

If you're an author that would like to contribute, fill out the Author Sign-up form above. Submissions are due by January 21, 2011. Stories do not necessarily have to revolve around domestic violence issues. They can be oneshots, outtakes, original stories or whatever you feel like contributing.

Donations will be done directly through the NCADV website (you can find a link under "How to Donate" above) from February 1-28, 2011. The minimum donation is $10 but you will receive a lovely compilation of stories from various authors who took the time out of their busy schedules to write something just for this fundraiser.

Unafraid

Domestic violence is one of those things that some people look at and say "I would never let myself get involved in a situation like that." Especially if you have seen another loved one involved in an abusive relationship. These types of situations can catch you by surprise. You think you have found the perfect mate. Miracle1901's personal story is a perfect example of that. It is also a perfect example of how, no matter how bad it gets, you can always find a way out.

"I watched my mother get beaten within an inch of her life by my step father. The same man who told me he would kill her if i told anyone what he was doing to me...i was seven years old. I believed him for 3 years he did things to me that i wont go into detail about. I finally told her what was happening. She left him and after a week of hiding in a hotel from him he was caught and sent to jail. He killed himself before he had to go to trial.

I told myself I would never let a man hit me. I would would be able to see it coming because I knew what to look for. I always told myself that as I much as I love my mother I would never put myself in a situation like that."

Watching Water for Elephants film

There are a bunch of little things happening in the fandom. Drama mostly. I'll have my Eclipse DVD review in the next post but for now I'm going to go off on a tangent, while I still remember, and recall the time I spent near the set of Water for Elephants in mid July.

A day off + some detective work on Google + an unhealthy passion for Robert Pattinson = me going out to watch Rob's new film, Water for Elephants, film... twice.

The great thing about living in LA is that there is so much going on. Premieres, movies, sightings, etc. The only down side is an unhealthy obsessions and traffic on the freeways.

The first day I went, I went in the early afternoon but didn't get there until 2pm because I got lost and couldn't find the place. The Big Top was set up in some farmer's field on interstate 26 between Filmore and Santa Clarita, right by Piru. It's in a little tiny town and the only hint of real civilization that I saw, besides the houses, was the gas station on the side of the freeway. You drive up Main St. to a road that will eventually dead end behind the field. There is a road to the front of the field but you can't see anything of the set because of the trailers and craft tents blocking the view.

From the back you can see the main tent and smaller tents that make up the circus. You can also see the Banzini Bros circus train. The animals were corralled in the back so I could see camels, zebras, horses and even Rosie the elephant made appearances. She's huge but she's pretty quick.

I didn't know what to expect so I was hardly prepared. There were others there, of course, that were veterans at set stalking this movie. They knew the security men, the best places to see, where to eat/go to the bathroom. They were pretty much living out of their cars. So that first day, I didn't stay very long. It was cold and windy and I didn't bring a jacket. There was a whole field between us and the set so I couldn't see much and I didn't bring a chair so I was standing around or on top of my car.

So I left and stocked up on provisions. I bought binoculars, packed a few jackets, a chair, a step ladder, a cooler of drinks and snacks and roped in a friend to go with me. The second day I went, they were doing a night shoot so the principle actor's would get there until around 5pm and wouldn't stop until 5 the next morning. It was a Friday so I had the day off but I work Saturdays. The next day at work wouldn't be much fun but I really wanted to do this.

The daylight is slowing ebbing away and we're all there ohhing and ahhing over what and who we see. We see a crowd exit the tent, we see cameras on cranes move about, big lights go on and are reflected back down. I don't know if we see Rob or Reese because we're kinda far and it's dark but I think we do. They do a scene with a group of people out side a tent. I think they were doing some of the stampede scene without the animals.

There was also filming in the train. We could see lights inside and dark silhouettes move past the illuminated windows.

Everyone looked really good in their period costumes. Lots of fedora type hats for the gentlemen and Reese was probably one of only a handful of women on set. They put her in bright colors so we could easily see her.

There was a fire scare at one point. There was smoke coming from either the left end of the train or from a tent over there. It looked like production stopped and a few minutes later, a fire truck and engine arrived. They didn't stay very long, perhaps 15 minutes, before leaving.

The excitement died down and it looked like they moved filming to inside the tent. We couldn't see much from the back so we moved to the front of the set and wait for them to leave hoping for a close encounter or an autograph. Of course, my friend and I weren't the only ones there. Total, I think there were about 22 women there. My friend brought her husband and son and they were the only male representatives there. They chose to wait in the car and watch DVDs. They sure are supportive.

It got really cold. Really really cold. Fog came in and chilled everything it touched. We all moved to our cars with slightly rolled down windows to keep staring for some kind of movement. I tried to nap but it's really hard to sleep when you're freezing. Eventually we see the extras pile into shuttles and people start to leave the set. Cue mass car exodus. They've got their signs out and camera at the ready.

It's about now that I start to feel really really silly for doing this at all. My friend is uber excited that she might get a chance to get a glimpse of Rob. Secretly, I hope that he doesn't exit through the front and sees me because I'll be totally labeled "bat shit crazy" along with the 20 other women that are here and have absolutely no shame. I've talked with them through the night and they're certifiable. We see his security guard come out and check out our little desperate crowd and look for paparazzi (they hung out with us and they are absolutely the worst people in the world next to puppy killers).

Other cast members drive by and wave but not Rob. It looks like he took the back way out. I wasn't sad or disappointed in the least. I was kinda happy but really tired as I left the others and went to work. The fog slowly dissipated as the sun rose. I worked a half day then went home and slept. I don't think I'll ever set stalk a night shoot again but I have plans to go to Vancouver in Feb of 2011, to celebrate my birthday of course, and maybe see some Breaking Dawn filming while I'm there.

November Already?!

Quick update post. I know I've been MIA for a loooong time, sorry. There seems to be new Breaking Dawn casting news all the time and I'm reading up on all of them and compiling some dossiers on them (I'm single-mindedly autistic like that).

Mostly I've been working on my new project The Lit of Twi website and podcast (check it out on iTunes). Check it out! It's all about Twilight Fan Fiction that I'm hopelessly addicted to.

I'm also planning a trip to Vancouver at the end of February to commemorate my birthday and if we happen to stop by the Breaking Dawn set and stalk 'em... well that's not completely out of the realm of possibility.

I'll post my findings on the new BD cast when I get it all collected but don't hold your breath. The Lit of Twi is taking a lot of my time! =D

Hello internet, long time no blog. [This entry was updated 9/6/10]

I don't know what you're doing during this lull in the fandom but I'm either reading Twilight fan fiction, working, or listening to podcasts. Usually I'll read and listen to podcasts at work.

Anyway, I'm pretty much addicted to fan fiction and podcasts and I was wondering if I can combine the two into an awesome project. There are plenty of Twilight podcasts out there, some better than others, and a few fan fiction ones (Twi Fic Pimps, Temptation Twilight, Twigasam, etc). So it got me thinking...

Could I do Twilight Fan Fiction podcast? What would it feel like? What would I say?

Here's what I'm thinking. I don't want it to be too long because I want to keep it snappy and filled with content. All of the podcasts I've been seeing are hovering around the 1hr mark. I'm thinking of 30 minutes for each episode. I want to play music in the background that's featured in the story, taken from the author's playlist, or captures the mood of the story. Basically a fan fiction recommendation podcast. I want to summarize the story, what kind it is (AU/ AH/ WIP/ Completed/ etc.) and do a round table of why we all like it or not. There's a lot of stories that a lot of people love but then a lot of people can't get into. So I think having different opinions are important as well. I want to read an excerpt from a chapter to give the listener a feel for it as well.

I'm a fan of themes as well so if there's time, to do more than one recommendation per episode but have them relate to one another somehow. Or not. It might also be fun to feature two entirely completely different stories for contrast.

It's one thing to read recommendations but you become more interested when you hear it from someone. Do you have a friend in real life that will wave their hands about raving about this story that you have to read and you think to yourself, "Wow, that does sound really good. I think I'll give it a try."

This is what I hope to create. So what's this got to do with you? Well, I'd love to work with someone(s) as a collaborator. I'm a fairly prolific reader but there just so much out there, I really don't consider myself an elite fan fic reader. I'd love to bounce ideas off of another person. Any takers?

OR you can send me your story recommendations. Do you know of a little fic that should get more attention or think it isn't talked about enough?

I'd like to pursue AU, AH, OOC, Canon, different 'shipping, different lifestyles, paranormal stuff, etc. I want a little but of everything and not solely Edward/Bella High School stories where she's the outcast, he's the popular kid, and they normal each other out (though I make no promises =D)

Rochelle Lefevre and me

I had a day off today and it's a pretty lazy day. I woke up at noon, checked my e-mail, listened to some NPR, etc. After reaching the end of the internet, I decided to check out what's going on in Twitter land. I'm scrolling through various tweets when I see Rachelle Lefevre's (who plays Victoria in Twilight and New Moon) tweet:

When I read this tweet, it was about 10 minutes old. I live about 12 minutes away from Mission Hills so I'm thinking "If I leave the house and head over there... I can probably meet her!" I was delayed from leaving the house but I leave and make my way over there. In my head I'm thinking of things to buy so I'm not obvious in my Twilight cast stalking hobby.

I enter the store, very nonchalant, grab a basket and notice that there's a little crowd by the express lane. "Great, she's still here," I think to myself. I grab some pears, a coke, Ritz, oatmeal and some Boysenberry jam (snacks for work tomorrow) and make my way over to the express check out lane.

She's there at the end, autographing someone reusable bag that she's helping to give away. I've actually brought my own bags but my purchases and my bags are packed away in these bigger and nicer ones. I notice that she's got her stuff slung over her arms and her group that she's with is packed and ready to leave. I have my stuff in one hand and with the other I'm pulling out my camera. Meeting "celebrities" never gets any easier. My heart is pounding and my palms start to sweat.

I make eye contact with some of the people that she's talking to and sheepishly smile at them. I go up to Rachelle and ask, "Um.. Rachelle? Can I bother you for a moment? Could I take a picture please?" Cue blush, more palm sweating and apologetic smiling.

She's still talking to her people. I've no idea what she's saying. I'm focused on not looking like a complete idiot and failing miserably. She puts her stuff down on the counter. I ask the guy she's talking to, "Could you.. uh, take our picture?" He chuckles and says, "I was waiting for you to ask me."

We stand next to each other and I've got a shit eating grin on my face. He takes a picture but my camera decided to be a ninja that afternoon because it doesn't beep and I can't hear the shutter. We're asking.. "Did it take?" Rachelle and I giggle and take two more pictures for 'just in case'. Here's the result:

I then asked her about the reusable bags that Vons was giving out (which was why she was there in the first place). She told me that the bags were designed by Homeboy Industries and were bought by Vons to give out to promote their efforts of "jobs not jail" and to promote Rachelle's effort to support a nation wide ban of plastic bags from supermarkets. I'm in favor of this idea. She praised me for the bags that I brought in myself. Cue more smiling.

She was really nice, friendly and articulate. I had a really great experience and it completely made my day.

This is how the Saga will end

We're several hundred days away from the release of the first part of Breaking Dawn. I imagine that this, right now, it was it's going to feel like when the entire Saga is done. It's a bit... boring in the fandom right now.

I can't remember what I did pre-Twilight. I read a lot of different books than I do now and I think I watched a lot more television. I don't watch any now and I read a lot of Twilight ~~smut~~ fan fiction.

Anyway, I joined a Twilight forum and I'm chatting with other Twilighters. We share Rob ~~porn~~ pictures, we joke, and right now for the summer, we're banding together to loose some weight. I've never met these ladies but they encourage me to eat healthier and get outside and exercise.

I also got addicted to another book series complete with fan sites, podcasts, fan art, fan fics, etc. What am I reading? The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This is a great series and I'm anxiously counting down the the third, and last book, in the series.

I think, when all is said and done and I still feel like blogging, I'll probably turn this into a Twilight fan fiction blog because I love it so much =) If you haven't read any or maybe you have and didn't like it, I highly recommend you give it a (second) chance. My Eclipse movie review

This is going to be very long and very picture heavy. I'm putting it all after the jump.

Basically, I enjoyed it. I give it 4 out of 5. It was exactly what I expected to see so I didn't leave the theater gasping muttering ohmygodohmygod. I had very very high standards and the movie met all of them. It had all of the and important parts of the book and then some. I think that this movie could stand on its own. Non-Twilight fans won't leave the theater that it was a complete waste of time.

After the jump is really detailed re-cap and review of the movie.

First, I love the Eclipse title. The New Moon was was awesome too but the Eclipse one is sooo purty. I want it as my wall paper or maybe as a MacBook skin.

I love all of David Slade's meadow scenes. It's so pretty. My problem with this scene are Kristen and Rob's hands.

Kristen is trying to tame her wig which is trying to consume Rob (what wouldn't) and Rob's hand on Kristen's shoulder looks like a giant paw that he doesn't know what to do with.

Watching Twilight, New Moon and now Eclipse, it seems like every director has their "signature" shot. With Catherine Harwicke it was Edward's "Say it out loud" shot that she says is her "intoxicating" shot [see Twilight DVD commentary]. With New Moon, Chris Weiz used this "nauseiting" angle on Bella during the breakup scene. Now David Slade uses not once, but twice, this overhead shot:

I don't know what the purpose of a shot like this is supposed to convey. It's really odd. Like I'm playing a video game. It takes me out of the movie. It doesn't feel organic. It's like someone shouting "it's not real!"

Bella's wig stealing scene #1: Forks cafeteria. However, Mike does get in a cute smirk.

I don't know if you've noticed, but on my fourth... fifth viewing (don't judge me) I noticed that Kristen has some cuts on her arm. On her right arm, right next to her armpit are a few cuts, it almost looks like scratches.

You can't tell here but watch out for it the next time you watch it. This will come up later in my review too (I hope you're taking notes). I have to give a nod to Sarah Clarke who plays Renee. I thought she made the most of her time on screen and didn't make this scene such a snooze-fest that it could have been. (Side note: I totally saw her "cowboy" hat at Target for $12.99!)

I listened to an interview with the costume designer (or maybe I read it) where she talks about Victoria's wardrobe. When we first see her in this scene where she's being chases by the Cullens and the Wolves, she's in the same costume that we saw in New Moon.

Throughout the movie, it progressively changes bit by bit. With her scene with Riley underneath the Seattle monorail, she's in a seductive black lacy piece that makes her seem vulnerable but that's just her character manipulating Riley.

Bella's wig stealing scene #2 and Jacob's movie entrance. Every single time I've seen this movie in the theater at least one person is catcalling for Taylor.

Even the extra in the scene can't keep her eyes of Taylor/Jacob. At this point of the movie, I'm rolling my eyes so badly it hurts.

Bella's wig stealing scene #3: Bella ditches school with Jacob and meets up with the Pack at Emily's place. This whole scene is pretty pointless. I think it was because New Moon was so great at establishing the Wolf Pack, they just had to put them in Eclipse so they had to give them some screen time. I thought it was completely pointless and I took a nap.

My nap continued as Jacob and Bella go off together and have a little chat. This is the "Dumbledore" scene for me. In Harry Potter, Dumbledore is the one to convey to the reader background information that you're going to need to understand what's about to happen. It's called exposition. Jacob is explaining to Bella, and the audience, stuff you're going to need to know to understand Breaking Dawn. I understand it's necessary but it's so boring.

I woke up once my Spidey sense told me Robward was going to be on screen.

Shhhhwing! Rob plays Edward really well in this scene. The black hungry eyes really emphasizes his concern, worry and anxiety he feels for Bella. Especially when he delivers the line "Someone was here". I almost want Edward in that scene to just grab Bella and hug her to reasure himself that she's ok, she's safe in his arms (maybe it's because I read this in a lot of fan fiction stories and it gets me every single time. It's the part of me that loves chick flicks. I'm such a girl =D)

The Cullens talk about protecting Bella, Bella gets the wolves to help patrol, then Bella's "I'm Switzerland" moment comes up. From talking to others and hearing their take on the movie, they loved this bit. I thought it was corny and cheesy and completely for the amusement of a young audience to recognize that "Hey! That's from the book!" My [sarcastic] reaction was, "huh, yea, didn't see that coming *eyeroll*"

Then Edward is dropping Bella off to a shirtless Jacob. I'm with Edward, doesn't this guy own a shirt? Though I do love the expression war between Edward and Jacob as they smirk and brood without Bella noticing.

nom nom nom Hungry Edward can eat me any day =D~

So far in the movie, I felt like any 'ol person could have directed this. The editing was really good. The boring parts are parsed and separated by new and interesting things and some tension builders (chasing Victoria, Riley and newborn action, etc.) What is going to set David Slade apart from being a generic director, is what he does with new material: newborns and flashbacks. In our first flashback, we get the story of the third wife.

I thought from beginning to end, even with a dramatized Gil Burmingham playing Billy Black narrating, this was so fantastic. The colors, the casting, the camera moves.... I loved this.

I love the Xavier scenes. He's remarkable playing Riley and super hot. He needed more lines because I love his voice. yum!

Cullen men talk (Ashley, Nikki and Elizabeth couldn't be reached? Or is a guy thing to talk strategy and recent killings). Still, Jackson does look and sound all delicious.

Bella and Charlie have a moment. awww

Bella and Edward talk, again, about the reason why Edward doesn't want to change her yada yada yada. Rob's hands are trying to disassociate from his body and take over the world.

The Bella/Jacob reshoot of him stealing a kiss is memorable for two reasons. First, is the badly delivered line from Taylor: "I wish I could have done it... smoother.." I shutter every time he says smoother. And then there's Bella's Face Punch. I loved that moment.

If you've got a fever, the only cure for it is more Billy Burke. Talk about a wonderful actor. He may not have that many scenes but when he's on screen, he steels the show. He doesn't even have to talk, he just wags his eyebrows or gives Bella a paternal look of love.

This is a great scene and always gets a laugh. Taylor delivers this line with impeccable comedic timing. I have to give it up to Melissa Rosenberg (screenwriter) for writing his line: "I kissed Bella... and she broke her hand.... punching my face." Makes me smile every time, mostly because of Billy's expression.

Nikki Reed playing Rosalie looks so much better in Eclipse than she ever did in the previous movies. The only thing I can nit pick about Rosalie doing her flashback scene are her dark eyebrows.

The entire flashback was stunning in its period details and I love Rosalie's dress. From an interview with the costume designer, they did shoot a longer scene where it's featured more predominately. I hope they put it on the DVD.

Then, Riley, newborns and Vulturi appear. Felix, played by Daniel Cudmore, says a line but I can't for the life of me understand what he's saying. "_____ are in action." What the hell is he saying?? Sonars? Soldiers? I don't get it. =(

Graduation day = Bella's wig stealing scene #4. Also, in the shot of Alice and Jasper, I love the hand holding between Esme and an off screen Carlisle. So sweet =')

I really liked Jessica's speech. It seemed really apropos for the situation. Good job Melissa.

I often wonder when I see the graduation party at the Cullen's is if something happened to the original wardrobe that Bella was supposed to wear. You'd think that Alice would put her in a dress or at least a skirt, not this long sleeved button down. But I have a theory. Edward is wearing almost the exact same thing. Either they wanted to show Bella as a united Cullen.... or their party is a Sadie Hawkin's dance.

The training scene was good but the music in the background made it even better. A typical montage. It was pretty much exactly as it was in the book (except for the time but that's neither here nor there). This scene transitions into Jasper's backstory flashback.

This is my favorite flashback scene. It's wonderful. The day shoot when Jasper meets Maria and converted the lighting to make it look like night gives it this eerie quality is chilling and sets up the emotional hardship Jasper has to go through. At the end of the scene, Bella has a nightmare. When she wakes up, take a look at that right arm, right near the armpit. Those scratches are healing and it looks like dark scabs/scars.

I wonder if it was wire work gone wrong or if she fell out of a tree or something.

The next few minutes are just filled with talking, explaining and Edward money shots.

Bella's wig stealing scene #5:

Charlie and Bella have a sweet moment where they discuss her virginity. Once again, Billy Burke playing Charlie Swan steals and makes the scene. "Old school.. great... is that code for something?"

The make out/leg hitch/proposal scene. It's really hot and I give it up to David Slade for doing such a wonderful job. The way Edward looks at Bella... his eyes and body just burn for her. He loves her so much. Bella, on the other hand, can't make eye contact. It really annoys me. When she says yes to Edward, she says it as she's looking down, then lifts up her eyes to Edward like she's saying "is that ok?"

Ok from here on out everything is culminating to the "battle". Bella spreads her scent, Jacob takes her to the camp site, Edward looks at some trees, new borns come out of some water, etc. Then we come to the tent scene reshoot.

I loved Rob and Taylor's dialogue with each other. Their strained banter in an awkward situation was done beautifully and Edward was all kinds of smirky and hot.

In the tent, Bella is wearing jackets and a beanie but the next morning she walks outside with just an opened flannel shirt over a grey undershirt. Homegirl gotta be cold. (hi wolfy Seth)

I'm going to go through the "battle" and Edward v. Victoria fairly quickly.

Victoria: Awefull wig, great red eyes that changed to black as she's fighting Edward, great death scene. I love how the music just stops. Like you're inhaling after forgetting to breathe.

I really don't like how they changed this from the book. Movie-Bella saves Edward from Victoria by cutting herself and activating Victoria's and Riley's bloodlust. Book Bella doesn't really "help" until the end of Breaking Dawn when she protect Edward from the Volturi's attacks. She's supposed to be a helpless human! I would rather have seen Seth come in and save the day if they're going to change things.

I can see Taylor/Jacob's nude colored boxers (gotcha!), Bella is a lot colder in the field than up in the snow (hence the brown hoodie), and Esme is apparently a robot because she can only move her eyes.

Skipping Jacob because it's boring and they really should have put in the epilogue.

This is the one scene where Bella's wig looks decent, almost pretty. Too bad I'm not paying attention because I'm asleep. This monologue is so long and boring and answers a question that was never asked. All throughout this scene I'm thinking "Why is this even here? What the hell does this accomplish?"

Rob and Kristen at the AMC in LA

This 4th of July weekend, several cast members showed up to theaters across America to say hello to the fans and introducing Eclipse. I was fortunate enough to attend one of these...

Ok, so it's hard to contain myself even hours later but literally a few hours ago after watching Eclipse in IMAX, Rob and Kristen walked into the theater. We knew before hand that "talent" would be at our theater but we didn't know who would show up. I was thinking Peter, Charlie and/or Jackson. Never in my wildest dreams would I think that Rob and Kristen would show up. But they did!

Cue freak out.

It's so crazy how this never gets easier with practice. I've seen them three times before but adrenaline is funny, it keeps flowin'. I'm chanting "ohmygod ohmygod" the entire time and panting. I have my video camera in one hand and my still camera in my other hand just holding them up and snapping photos every second. They say hello, thanks for making Eclipse have such a great weekend, and bye. There were there a total of approximately 2 minutes. I'm shaking for the next 15, still freaking out.

There was theater security, Summit security, and personal security (Rob doesn't go anywhere with out Dean). We could tell which way they left by the mob of security guards blocking an exit.

I'd have awesome pictures and video if I wasn't such an epic failure. My video camera didn't have its memory card (so I was holding it up for nothing) and my still camera didn't have the flash on so 80% of the photos I took are trashed. I managed to take 6 ok-ish ones. Still, I'm so thankful for a room full of other fans who managed to not be such big failures as I am. New pictures and videos are popping up all over the place.

To see these, I recommend you heading over to Robert Pattinson Life. I think they hire minions or something =D

Eclipse... let's see that again!

4 days of camping out in Tent City, catching a 7 am flight the morning after the red carpet premiere, going to an all night birthday party, driving to Forks, coming back to work then immediately to the theater to see the Eclipse midnight showing left me exhausted but it's amazing what the combination of sugar, caffeine and adrenaline can do for your system.

The movie went above and beyond everything I had hoped it to be. Sure, it cut out a few things, mashed up some details to make the story travel faster, but DAMN Rob is so freakin' hot. Bella who? Taylor huh? Seriously, he is un-freakin-real. He keeps looking better and better. Sooo many money shots. Once I get the book leg DVD I'm screen caping the shit out of it and my desktop backgrounds are going to change every 5 minutes.

And Jackson! Gah!

I've only seen it once so far so I can't go into the details of my favorite parts or the parts that I wished they didn't change/leave out. But I'm happy to say that it got all the important ones. The tent scene read like it was verbatim from the book. Brilliant! I have to give it up for Taylor. He's acting his broken little heart in this movie. Bella's wig wasn't a complete disaster, it was mostly forgettable except in a few scenes where it looked like her hair lines was made out of hair plugs.

So, I saw New Moon in theaters seven times... I think I'll see Eclipse more even though NM was my favorite =D

Also in theaters is Jackson Rathbone's new movie The Last Airbender. If you've never seen the cartoon show, watch it! It's really really good. Not just for kids. I'm really excited to see this. I think I'll catch a double feature tomorrow Eclipse/Airbender.

I just started listening to the Eclipse soundtrack today and I really enjoy it. I have the deluxe version but there remixes aren't worth it and the bonus tracks aren't spectacular either so if you just have the "regular" version, you're not missing out on much. My favorite tracks is a toss up between Florence + The Machine's Heavy In Your Arms and Sia's My Love. I'm a huge Florence fan. Her album, Lungs, is suberb. I love the track Howl and of course Cosmic Love.

I'm also listening to Howard Shore's score for Eclipse. It's very... Shore-like: brass and string heavy - grandiose. The New Born theme sounds a lot like Shelob's (Lord of the Rings reference). The eerie violins scraping against the strings in disharmony is pretty creepy for a bloodthirsty vampire or a giant spider. I can also definitely hear Howard's influence in Metric's contribution to the soundtrack.

Premiere camp - Day 4

The Big One!! (that's what she said)

Risin' an shinin' at 8 am. I wake up to my friend saying "Kai came last night?" Apparently around 1:30 in the morning, Kiowa Gordon (Embry) came by Tent City with his band Touche. He and his band were doing a gig down in Spaceland but we missed it because we were too busy sleeping. Oh well.

The day before we were watching them set up the black carpet and barricades and noticed a big problem. The wooden boards that have the Eclipse logos on them were about 18 inches away from the metal barricades holding back the fans. I don't know about you but the average fan doesn't have an arm length that long. How are we going to get autographs and pictures?? It's not cool. Summit and their planning crew just keep failing the fans at every turn.

We check out of the hotel at noon and make a quick run to Target for batteries and silver sharpies. I bought 4 but only came back with one. I was lending them out to people around me whose pens were running out or dry and never got them back. =T

Around 2 pm, they're starting to line us up in sequential order according to the number on our wristbands. You really didn't have to camp out once you got your wristband, you just had to be in line on time. While waiting in line we met Ian, he's a writer but is moving to Forks and setting up a Twi-shop because it is uncanny how much he looks like Rob (see picture).

We're waiting within the barricade for about 2.. 2 1/2 hours before the first celebrities start to show. There are three areas of the red carpet. It starts off with the pappz on one side and fans on the other side. Then it loops around to the TV channels (MTV, E!) and Ryan Seacreast. Then it turns and there's more media (radio, internet, and television) on one side and fans on the other side. After they pass the media it's a short trip inside the theater.

I was in the middle of the fan area across from the media section. Not a great spot. They spend most of their time on the other side taking pictures and signing stuff for fans there and on our side, they're busy doing interviews. I have lots of pictures of their backs and hair. Some took the time to sign stuff and take pics which was really nice and appreciated. I got everyone's signature that I wanted to get except for Robs. He practically ran past us because he was taking too long and his entourage were hurrying him inside. Boo!

After everyone went inside, they were handing out tickets to the fans to get into the theater to watch the movie. I didn't want to go and neither did my friends. Yea, sounds awesome but I was exhausted, the seats were probably in the nosebleed section and I had to catch a 7 am fight the next morning and it was already 8 pm-ish, so that wasn't happening. I have midnight showing tickets to a theater that has reserved seating so my seats are great and I can relax and enjoy the show there... fully rested and not starving. Did I mention that we didn't eat this entire day?

I did my best. I got a few good photos. I haven't looked at my videos yet but once I do I'll post them to my YouTube channel. Subscribe and be the first ones to know when I've uploaded them. =D

Premiere camp - Day 2 & 3

Day 2: The Longest Day Ever

Nothing exciting today. Just a lot of waiting and getting sunburned. Media has been crawling all over "Tent City" looking for rabid fans that want to be on camera or interviewed. Every TV station in the area has a truck out here. I could care less about being on television, I"m trying to conserve my energy. Being on camera you need to be hyped up and it's exhausting after a while.

I didn't sleep in Tent City this first night. I went home, took a shower, and came back in the late morning. Truth to tell, nobody had to camp out in Tent City. They never checked wristbands. I think they just wanted something to show the media how fanatic Twilight fans could be. It's a great story, hence all the media attention.

We were told that by 6am on Day 3, we would have to leave the Nokia Plaza and set up camp somewhere else because they needed the area to set up the carpet. So a few of us decided to stick around and camp in Tent City so that we could move our stuff. At 10 pm, the showed New Moon on the giant television for the people staying and camping out. It was great; lots of shouting and woo-hoo-ing. I was getting pretty tired at this point so I only opened my eyes for the Edward parts. The movie ended at midnight.

Day 3: Tired and Oh! Famous People!

The Nokia Plaza doesn't turn of their lights until 2am and we had to wake up at 5am to pack up our stuff to be ready to move to campsite #2. The move was fairly orderly. They moved us to more barricades on the street between Staples Center and the Theater. We set up our chairs but didn't pop up the tent, just not worth it.

The sun was out with a vengeance so we ended up spending most of the day outside tent city. We walked around downtown, got some breakfast, etc. Sometime in the late morning, early afternoon, Booboo Stewart and Tinsel Korey (who play Seth and Emily respectively) stopped by Tent-apolooza. As always, they were so gracious with their to their fans. I think they got to everybody signing autographs and taking pictures.

At three we checked into our hotel that was across the street. We all needed showers and a real bed for the last night to get ready for The Big Day tomorrow. While we were in the hotel, we were all periodicly checking Twitter because we heard word that more stars would come down to Tent City. Almost two hours later we get word that Peter Facinelli is at the Alex's Lemonade Stand.

We, excitedly, walk across the street and back to our camping area. All the fans are lined up against the metal barricades waiting patiently for him to arrive. We don't wait for too long before Peter, Billy Burke, Jackson Rathbone and Julie Jones (Carlisle, Charlie Swan, Jasper and Leah Clearwater) come out of the side of the Nokia Theater. They hand out Burger King food, sign autographs, take pictures, and do some interviews with the media that's there. They were there for a good hour, hour and a half. The boys were very playful. Jackson picked up a small kid and spun him around. As he was leaving I got a fist bump *pow* =D Once I find some time, I'll upload the video that I took of their visit onto my YouTube channel.

After the wonderful visit we head back to the hotel to download the pictures and videos we've taken. We're getting pretty hungry. We've only had breakfast so we're thinking of taking the car out and getting some yummy Indian food but then we check Twitter and we see that Charlie Bewely (Demitry) is on his way to Tent City. Could this day get any better? We're not in the room for long before we get a tip Charlie's there. We rush down and on our way to the main camp we see him by a van taking a picture, we rush over to the side camp and get autographs, photos and video of him. He then walks over to the main camp but he only has a few minutes there before he has to go somewhere else. I don't think he makes it all the way down. Eventually he runs down the line giving hi-fives but someone grabs onto his sleeve and rips his shirt. He gets kind of mad (so would I!). All it takes is one person to ruin it for the others.

Charlie leaves and the place is humming with excitement. "Is someone else going to come?" We're not sure so we walk a block to El Cholo and get some takeout mexican food. One of the servers is young, tall, handsome and single. We linger a bit but eventually walk back to the camp site to eat. We leave around 10:30 pm and walk back to the hotel to sleep. It's been a long day and it'll be longer tomorrow.

Premiere camp - Day 1

AKA: Fail Day

This day is 90 part ridiculous/crazy, 10 parts sunny/sunburned with a dash of boredom (maybe more). Word on the street is that the first person "in line" was at around 12:30 am and decided to pretty much create the line and people just stood behind them. So when I arrive around 4:30am (remember, Summit was saying that they weren't giving out wrist bands until 6am and telling people to park in the adjacent parking structure which doesn't open until 5:30am) there were already 300 people in front of me (more or less).

Alright, not the greatest of spots, do-able. At least I went to the New Moon premiere where I collected a bunch of priceless memories and autographs.

Then Summit shows up and I think it's the fault of one girl in the middle of the "line" who runs and rushes to the front that start off a panic among the sleep deprived, cold Twihards. This one person sets off a mob. Immediately everyone is running to the front for no other reason than the people around them are running. I'm thinking to myself "Is PFach here already?" (He stopped by the line last year on her motorcycle and did a drive by). Now we have a mob scene. Summit is saying 'move back to your original location' but people aren't going to move when they see people that were in back of them are not in front of them and aren't budging.

There's a kind of stand still, a "what the hell are we going to do" moment, and eventually we spread out a bit and they start letting us into the Nokia Theater Plaza area where they take our name and telephone number as they but a wrist band on us. This takes hours. Then, they change the rules arbitrarily.

Last year, you were camping out for a wristband, this year they give them to you first thing. In their notice, Summit had said that once you received your wristbands, you could leave. We're assuming that they didn't want a bunch of people camping out in the middle of down town in the mists of the LA Film Festival. But that morning as we're lining up to receive our wristbands, they tell us that no, you need be to here, camped out, until Thursday or else you forfeit your place in line. This, understandable, upsets a lot of stay at home moms, people who have a family to take care of, a job, etc. They were saying, "If you're going to change the rules, why do it the morning of and not before? Why are you [Summit] wasting our time?" This caused some people to leave. There were those that came completely unprepared to camp out, others that supplies to the nines. We're talking the Ritz Carlton of tents, pavilions, mosquito netting, inflatable mattresses, chairs, umbrellas etc.

By nine/ten-ish, it seemed that everything was situated. Most were camping out in the middle of the Plaza and I don't know where the others went.

Now if that wasn't enough drama for the day, this morning the LA Laker champion parade took place and started right in front of the Nokia Theater and traveled down the street. Barricades were set up for blocks and streets were closed off. Tens of thousands of Laker fans showed up as early as we did, to watch the parade go by. These were hard core fans all decked out in purple and gold. We were by the front of the parade to around that area, the fans in front of the barricade were around 20-25 persons deep. And that went on for several LA blocks. The noise from the crows, horns, and multiple helicopters was annoying to say the least. I thought the parade was a let down. It was a few fire engines and some double decker busses with the team on the top driving by at about 5 miles an hour. That passes our area in a bout 20 seconds and was done. It was Lame. It took around 3 hours for most of the fans to disperse and leave. People from horizon to horizon, a sea of gold and purple.

The unforgiving summer LA sun was not nice to my beautiful skin, I'm now sporting angry red spots on my arms and chest. I just hope I don't peel.

Getting ready for the Eclipse premiere

I'm five part excited and five parts filled with trepidation. Summit has giving us some more details and some ground rules to follow while camping out for the Eclipse premiere on Thursday.

One of the things they mentioned is the size of the tent you're allowed to bring: 4'x4' (16 sq. ft) pop tent. I have combed the various outdoor sports shops and other stores looking for something like that and besides a "Princess Camping Pack" that's meant for 7-year-olds, this does not exist. Four feet by four feet?! I haven't been four feet tall since the third grade! (I'm pretty tall).

I don't what we're going to do about sleeping. We'll mostly be in a giant square, in stead of a long slinky line, for the first two. I'll bring an inflatable mattress and a sheet. Maybe with my chair I can build a fort.

The best parking lot that I found is on the corner of S Flower St/W 8th St (entrance on Flower). It charges $7 for all day parking. It is across the street from the 7th St Metro Center and from Macy's Plaza. The bottom floor of Macy's Plaza has a Bally's Total Fitness Gym, I just signed up for my 7 day guest pass (hello showers!). The Plaza also features a handy food court with all imaginable food types.

The closest grocery story is a Ralphs on W 9th St between Hope and S Flower St. They do have a bathroom. From the entrance go to the back and far left of the store. It's in the corner by the Pharmacy.

Next to Ralphs is a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf but if that coffee (and free wi-fi) is too far for you, there is a Starbucks in the Nokia Theater plaza. Just head towards the theater.

The weather has been steady the last couple of days. It looks like it's going to be beautiful and not very cold at night. Highs are the mid 70s and lows in the low 60s. It's shorts and light jacket weather.

That's if for now. Just so you know, it sounds like they'll start handing out wristbands on a first come, first serve basis starting at 6am on Monday, June 21 (tomorrow!). I'll see you there!

I almost forgot! The LA Lakers victory parade is starting at 11am tomorrow (6/21) at Staples Center which is right across the street from the Nokia Theater Plaza. Get ready to witness even crazier people that Twi-hards! =D

Jackson and Peter stole theshow here. Ashley didn't really talk unless she was asked a direct question but her hair looked amazing. It was so long. Her and Nikki could have passed for sisters.

Xavier has the sexiest Australian accent. It also doesn't hurt that he's extremely good looking. Bryce is a true Twifan and was so sweet and gracious and really nice. Her hair is a beautiful red too.

11:45 am Gil Birmingham, Christian Serratos, and Daniel Cudmore
Dan is the man. He's so lovable and handsome and talkative and funny. Gil was eh. Christian also had really long and big poofy hair and she's super small and skinny and didn't really contribute much to the conversation. It was a awkward panel.

4:00 pm Booboo Stewart and Tyson Houseman
Tyson looks a lot better in person than he does in the production pictures of him. His body looks like he's packing some heat under his shirt and he's kinda nerdy-cute with his glasses. Booboo is adorable as always. I was actually sitting near him in the hotel lobby earlier in the morning but I didn't want to stare or take pictures because I didn't want to be "that" fan.

6:00 pm The Wolf Pack Panel with Alex Meraz, Chaske Spencer and Julia Jones
This was Julia's first PR appearance and I think she was nervous, I think that's why Cheske and Alex couldn't stop touching her. They were always patting her back or giving her a wolf version of a high five. Alex is great, he did some wild flips for us. Cheske loves tossing his hair and running his fingers through it. It's really shiny. =)

7:00 pm Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and Robert Pattinson
Oh Mah Gawd the screaming. You could tell that all three were pretty loopy because they've probably had no sleep in a while. Kristen and Rob kept whispering in each other's ears, Kristen's tics were more pronounced, Tayler was goofy and giggly as always. It was kind of annoying when people would keep randomly shout "I love you!" "Take off your shirt!" "You're so hawt!" Every pause was filled with these and then people would shush them and then more would shout in the silence. It was really hard to hear them but they had some really good moments and some memorable quotes.

She is such a sweetheart and so funny, especially when she's impersonating Kiowa. Here are some of my favorite questions and answers.

What has been your most memorable, positive, fan experience?

There was this little girl that I met in Burmingham in the UK and she has Cystic Fibrosis and she's the most positive, uplifing person I think... probably being part of this movie or one of the best experences is probably meeting her because she's got so much strength and it's really inspiring.

Can you please describe each member of the wolf pack.

Let's go with Alex. Alex is just one of those people that can make you feel completely mental. Like, you just want to strangle him most of the time. And then when you see him, he's got that loving smile and pokes at you and you're like “ugh, I can't be mad at you”. It's got that love / hate thing. Yes, he's hot. He knows he's hot. He's always posing everywhere, doing flips and stuff.

Bronson, he just has a lot of energy. He's like the person “Let's do this! Let's do this!” And you saw it in the clip with Taylor explaining how Broson is just full of energy.

Kiowa, is just... Kiowa *flips her hair to the side covering half her face* I saw him on the MTV red carpt he's like: “Yea, I went to Nordstroms and picked this out and uh... yea, it was awesome.”

Tyson... Tyson's body got like... when he walked out I was like “What the hell happened to you?” Like he's *makes hand motions depicting a six pack* He... that boy put some effort into it because he was really skinny when he first started in New Moon and then he just started growing like crazy. Tyson's body is going. He's just really really... he's just a smart brainac type of guy.

Cheske... my nick name for him is sunshine because he's just like a big ray of sunshine. I dunno... he's great. He's one of those people who's always positive no matter what. So, “Do you wanna do this?” “Yeah! Totally! Great!”

Taylor... he's different around me than he is around the boys because they do their football thing in a small tent when it's raining outside. He's just got a lot of energy. The boy is talented, I'll give you that much.

And Booboo, for all you younger girls under 16, yea... I think he's cute. I'm glad they cast Booboo. He's just an awesome addition to the wolf pack.

Julia is awesome. People try to peg us against each other and start this war but it's just not happening because I'm glad that she's on this journey with me. She's awesome and she's super super hot.

Did you learn anything about yourself playing Emily or in any other role that you played?

I've developed so much as a female from playing Emily. I feel like it was my role for me personally with my own growth, Emily has a lot of strenght even though she's scared, she doesn't let that effect her... she's still beautiful. To me, the great thing about Emily is her beauty comes from inside. That's what makes her radiate. It teaches you to focus on that inner stuff rather than constantly focusing on the “I've got a blemish” stuff. I found a lot of strenght playing her.

Sporting a shaggy Beiber haircut and green pants, Kiowa answered questions in his easy going manner and eventually started walking around the room.

These boys are so funny together. They bounce off each other adding more anecdotes to a story. Justin told his story of his most embarrassing moment and when he almost died while surfing and Michael did his Twilight movie Forks diner dance and did a Catherine Hardwicke impression. But here are some of my favorite questions and answers from Justin and Michael.

Justin: What has been the most embarassing thing that has ever happened to you?

Um.. I think I told this story.. actually really recently because it's the only thing that I could really think of that was just really embarassing... well ok I'll tell you two things. One time, I got in big trouble from my dad for being really stupid in High School and he.. I don't know what kind of punishment this was, but he made me cut my own hair. And he made me cut my front hair really short and he kept going, “Shorter! Shorter!” By the time it was done I looked in the mirror and for some reason it got cut like this *motions an upside down U running from one ear, to his forhead, and down to the other ear*. I showed up to school and everybody was laughing at me.

The other embarassing moment was in fifth grade. We were in PE and we were all shooting free throws and, you know, I was a shrimp, I was so small. I was maybe 3'8” or something... and it takes me every ounce of energy from me to get the ball to the net, and it's not even gracefull.. it's like UNGH! And I remember lined up on the half court behind me and I'm about to shoot, I'm trying to prepare... I throw the ball so hard with all my might... I farted really loudly. It was like that moment where I was standing there for a second and I was like, “Do I turn around? Did they hear it?” And I did this like really sheeping look and I was like *turns his back to the audience and slowly looks behind his shoulder* And everybody is just laughing at me. It was pretty embarassing.

How 'bout you Mike? What was your most embarassing story?
That was a question for you...
That was pretty bad... at least I didn't crap in my pants. That would've been bad. I would probably walk... waddle away.
Well, you took mine.
Oh! *laughs* Michael shit in his pants.
...it's a problem.... I think that's why I didn't get Edward [the role]. I was going to get it... but then they're: “Dude, your pants are full of poop. You can't be Edward. It's rediculous.”

What The Forks?!

You can listen, for free, to the Eclipse Soundtrack here as is streams until Noon June 3rd (Eastern Standard Time). I'm actually going to hold off on listening to it until I've seen the movie. I overplayed the New Moon soundtrack so when the music showed up in the movie, I was singing along instead of paying attention. Though that's not stopping me from pirating the audio. Arrg.

It coincides with the Eclipse Los Angeles Convention (which I will be attending and hopefully posting about it daily) so my coverage will probably be done after the whole weekend is finished as a wrap up. Rob is scheduled to be at the convention early Saturday evening (June 12th). This just happens to be the day that the UK play the US in the 2010 FIFA Wold Cup. If someone doesn't ask him about it, I will!

Someone is now the new owner of a life size silicone bust of Robert Pattinson which sold on eBay for ~$1,400. It is incredibly creepy looking. Check out this article for more info (but if creepy to the xtreme isn't your thing, skip it!)

Ok so, here's what's been going on since the last time we "saw" each other. (Note: I'm random and all over the place with this post.)

The Vancouver Twilight convention took place May 14-16th. Twilight Lexicon did an interview with Catherine Hardwick, on the floor (her choice). I really couldn't care less about Catherine Hardwick. She bugs and she keeps adding her two cents to every Twilight related story whether we ask for her opinion or not.

Collectors edition of Eclipse and the trade paperback came out. Do you own the Collectors editions? I don't and I don't think I ever will. It's seems kind of silly. Is it really worth it? I was thinking of getting all the books in paperbacks, since I don't want to ruin my hardbacks, but I just got my eReader (insert huge smile here) so I'm re-thinking that bit.

Rob went on Ellen. He was adorable and sexy as all hell.

He's in Southern California now (I'm breathing the same air as him ^_^) shooting Water for Elephant. He even looks good covered in dirt and wearing his sexspenders.

There are lots of TV spots for Eclipse now-a-days. I really don't watch TV but I see them (and download them) on-line. I'm really excited now. It's getting so close!

You can listen to some of the tracks off of the Eclipse soundtrack in various places if you know where to look. Jonathan Low by Vampire Weekend, Atlas by Farnfarlo, and an article about how the bands were chosen.

MUSE's single is available to download on iTunes but I just go to YouTube and listen to it there. I've been hearing it on the radio lately and I like it more and more the more often I hear it.

A bunch of Eclipse promotional posters have also come out to grace a bus stop near you. They're ok. Jane looks like Chloe Sevigny from Big Love (pictured). Robward looks amazing in blue. He should always wear blue or go naked (guess which one I prefer?)

If you didn't know, there will be an Eclipse Twilight Convention in Los Angeles June 11-13th. I swore to myself after going to the New Moon convention back in March, I wouldn't do another again. It was ok the first time but not something I'd do twice... that is until Rob entered the picture. I've flipped-flopped on whether or not I should go and I figured, this is a once in a life time opportunity, it's just money and I can't take it with me, and I'm young so I might as well enjoy myself.... at least that's what I was chanting as I was purchasing my weekend pass for the convention. Yet more time off from work that I'll need to take off. It's worth it though. I'm going to try and get some hidden camera footage (they don't like you taking video). *rubs hands in anticipation*

I just purchased my midnight showing tickets about an hour ago. Why so late? Well I was waiting for a particular theater to start selling their tickets. They have reserved seating so no waiting in line hours before, trying to get a good seat. It was well worth the anxiety (bit a finger nail off) and the price. About $13 per ticket. Not too shabby.

What makes me extra Twi-tarded is that I also bought tickets for a double feature of Twilight and New Moon right before the midnight showing. A chance for cafeteria Edward and shirtless Edward on the big screen? Sign me up! It start at 6:30pm. There are intermissions between each film but I'll be basically spending 8 hours inside the theater. If it gets too much I'm planning on sleeping through the James bit in Twilight and the Wolf Pack bit in New Moon. I'm Edward's girl, he had dibs on my attention.

Between the red carpet premiere and the movie release, I'm going to Seattle for a cousin's 15th birthday (yes, it's what you think; I was guilt tripped into going). But we'll be up there for four days and the party is only for one so I'm thinking that a side trip to Port Angeles and Forks is in order. Time to make the pilgrimage to where it all began. I really want to do this, hopefully my family will understand when my sister and I bail on them to drive down there.

*smacks head* I almost forgot (because, really, is so forgettable). That Bree Tanner novella is coming out June 5th. You can read it for free on Stephenie's website or buy it anywhere books are sold. I'm going to read it first then buy somewhere... preferable with a coupon. It's one of those things that falls into the "gotta have" category.

I think that's about it. If I have an awesome encounter with Jackson Rathbone tomorrow when I go see 100 Monkeys I'll let you know, otherwise here's looking forward to a long Memorial Day weekend.

Fans can start camping to see the event of the year - THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE red carpet premiere - is Monday, June 21 at 6am PT - Remember the premiere is at Nokia Theater!

Dude, I'm so there. A few days, that's nothing. Seriously, I was planning on starting to camp on the the 18th. :-D

I'm going to try to visit downtown before this date and do some reconnaissance. I need to find out where bathrooms, gyms (for showers), and food are near by. I was going to go today but I was tired and they were having some pre-WangoTango (SoCal radio Top 40 concert) event which means killer traffic.

You can tell that Eclipse is coming out soon when there's news practically every day.

I'm so glad others have found the time to track this stuff down because I sure as hell don't. So, from the Twilight Examiner, here are a few Eclipse merchandise (ie swag you're going to buy for your imaginary niece) that I kinda want to buy for myself found interesting. Nordstrom's "Eclipse" line of clothing. Preview some of this line all this week here as it culminates to the opening May 15th on their web site and in stores. I liked their New Moon themed clothing.. I didn't buy any but maybe they're on clearance. =D
Hard back Eclipse Collectors Edition, May 25. I'll wait for the BD one to come and then maybe I'll buy the box set. I dunno... I already own all the hard and soft backs... do I really need another set?
Eclipse Board Game, May 27. I have the New Moon Board Bored Game. I know the target fan base is 12-18 year old girls but still... maybe they can have sparkle peen game board pieces for a bit of fun?

Eclipse Soundtrack, June 8. I made the mistake of over listening to the New Moon soundtrack before I saw the movie. It was kind of distracting when, during the movie, I would start singing along. I'm only going to listen to the MUSE song and not any of the others until I see it in the movie. I'll let you know if that works. =)
Movie Companion and the Score, June 29. I wish the movie companion came out earlier so that I could take it to the Eclipse red carpet premiere and get it signed. Also, I predict that this score will not stop playing on my mp3 player nor my car stereo until Breaking Dawn comes out.
Scene It? The Super Mega Ultra Delux Twilight Edition, released date TBD. It combines all three movies. All that's left is booze and chocolate and it's a party!

Breaking Dawn part II possible recast?

Just when you thought there wasn't enough drama in the fandom I read about salary disputes and the possibility of re-casting. Here are a few excerpts:

"Salary dispute holding up 'Twilight 5' announcement"

EXCLUSIVE: Summit Entertainment is working furiously to close the talent deals required to split Stephenie Meyer's fourth "Twilight" novel into two films... -- and could even lead to cast changes for the series' final installment.

...director Bill Condon is already signed to film two "Breaking Dawn" movies, which would be shot back-to-back starting in the fall and released in November 2011 and summer 2012, respectively.

Deals for Peter Facinelli (who plays Carlisle Cullen) and Billy Burke (Bella's father, Charlie Swan) are done, but we're told the actors who play the Cullen kids (especially Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene) are trying to sink their teeth into bigger paydays that, at least at this point, the studio behind the billion-dollar franchise is unwilling to provide. "We may have a situation where one of them is thrown out on the street to make a point," says a source close to the dealmaking.

A deal is currently being negotiated to move the production to Louisiana (the first was shot in Portland and the second two in Vancouver and Italy). Luring "Twilight" would be a huge "get" for the state -- and, given the tax credits, a money-saver for the studio.

Honestly, I'm kinda tired of the drama. I'm just about ready to sit back, relax, re-read The Hunger Games, and just wait it out (course it could all turn into a shit storm once they say they're going to re-cast Rob, there will be blood on the street!)

Eclipse movie and soundtrack details

Le Movie
Summit has announced that Fandango and MovieTickets.com will be selling tickets for Eclipse this Friday, May 14th. Though you might find that select theaters are already selling them in your area.

With this announcement, they also released that the total running time of the movie will be 2 hours and 4 minutes.

I'm waiting for my favorite midnight showing theater to start selling tickets. All of their seating is reserved seating. I highly recommend doing this if you can. No one wants to spend 6+ hours waiting in line.

Still no word yet on the red carpet premiere details at the Nokia Theater. Like... where do fans line up? Can fans line up? etc...

Le Music
The first single, Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever) by MUSE, will be released May 17. The album itself will be released June 8th. (pre-order version 1, pre-order version 2)

UPDATE: Well not so much as an update as I just forgot to add it here. The Latin American band Jesse & Joy will also be featured on the Eclipse Soundtrack.

The Eclipse Score, done by the brilliant Howard Shore (Lord of the Rings), will be available June 29th. Which is the same day as The Twilight Saga Eclipse: Official Illustrated Movie Companion comes out.

I'm really excited to hear the MUSE single. My heart palpitates thinking about it.

I'm also a Howard Shore fan. I have complete and full confidence that he's going to create a wonderful score for the movie. I really enjoy Alexander Desplate's work on New Moon (I listen to it on repeat when I'm reading) and I hope to add Howard's efforts onto my play list. =D

Stephenie Meyer, on her site today, announced that the first single off of the Eclipse Soundtrack will be "Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)" by MUSE. The single will be available May 17 with the entire soundtrack available June 8. Pre-order yours here.

I did a very loud "OH MY GAWD!" inside a theater when I heard the news. Luckily, the movie hadn't started yet.

The title of the song, Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever), which (thank god), isn't Love Spelled Backwards is Love, has the epic feel that I love about this band. I envision a melodic piano with some violins then ripping into a head banging bass line and wailing guitar riffs all while Matt is spewing out soulful lyrics about passionate love. I'm thinking it'll be Bliss, Glorious, Unintended, and Starlight all wrapped into one.

Seriously, I could not be happier. I can't wait to request this song on the radio all day, everyday.

Breaking Dawn News:
Very late last night or early this morning (depending on what time zone you're in), "sources" with links into the movie industry let it be known that Breaking Dawn will release into theaters November 18, 2011. It is still unclear if Breaking Dawn will be one or two movies. Filming for this movie is thought to be taking place in the fall (late October, early November).

Eclipse Premiere Update: (this will update as info comes in)
It still feels like there's lots of confusion and different info coming out of Summit and into various sources. The only thing I know for sure is that it will be June 24th. Yea, I'm banging my head on the desk and pulling my hair out about this as well.

Official Eclipse Premiere... NOT!

There was drama up in this fandom today. I didn't see everything that went down but I wouldn't be surprised if we Fail Whale'd Twitter with various "WTF!"s and "OMFG!"s

The Los Angeles Film Festival rolled out their line up for this summer's festival. They announced that they would be showing/screening The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Many, including myself, thought this meant that they were [world] premiering the movie as part of the festival instead of the much assumed Grauman's Chinese Theater premiere.

Kaleb Nation, in cahoots association with Summit Entertainment, let it be know that the LA Film Festival is not the official premiere. This is what he tweeted today:

"FROM SUMMIT: "this [LAFilmFest] is NOT the official red carpet premiere in Los Angeles. That is still happening." Take a deep breath :)"

"Info about the Eclipse premiere I posted earlier has changed. It was from Summit, but they're changing stuff. I'll have answers tomorrow!"

There are 55 (I don't count the rest of today) days until the release of the movie and Summit can't get their act together and give us some solid facts and details. I'm pretty sure that Eclipse is the #1 most anticipated summer movie ever. They're going to make swimming pools of money off of it and not just because of the fantastic reviews it's getting from people who've screened a rough cut of the movie.

*sigh* Now I have to tell my co-workers that the premiere may not be at the LAFF because I was skipping and bouncing off the walls all day today telling everyone about it. *facepalm*

I just want June to come quickly.

So the anniversary was actually yesterday but it was one year ago when I moved my Blog of Everything Twilight from LiveJournal to Aurora Fades. Time really does fly when you're having fun.

A lot has happened but I'm really looking forward to the coming 365 days. There's Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, going to Forks/Vancouver, new fan fiction to read, new friends to make... you get the idea.

I'm thankful for this series, this fandom, fan fic smut, delicious Rob pictures, and you!

A note to fans from Bill Condon

Greetings Twihards, Twifans, Twilight Moms, Team Edward, Team Jacob and Team Switzerland,

I just want to say hello to all of you and let you know that I'm stoked to be getting underway on the adventure of making BREAKING DAWN. As you've probably heard, I've been given a very warm welcome by Stephenie and Team Summit - who are super-focused, as you know, on getting these movies right.

I'm pretty busy bringing myself up to speed on what you already know by heart: I've read BREAKING DAWN twice, rewatched Catherine's and Chris's movies 2-3 times each, have all four CDs playing in my car, and have Catherine's notebook, Mark Cotta Vaz's companion books, and even Volume 1 of the graphic novel here on my desk - a corner of my office is starting to look like Hot Topic. I realize that this barely qualifies me for "newborn" status in the universe you've been living inside for a few years now, but a guy's gotta start somewhere.

Like many of you, I've always been slightly obsessed with vampires, dating back to the prime-time series DARK SHADOWS, which I followed avidly as a kid. But that alone hadn't been enough to get me interested in making a vampire movie, even though my early screenwriting and directing efforts grew out of a great love for horror movies and thrillers. Since making GODS AND MONSTERS thirteen years ago, however, I've been yearning for a return to a story with Gothic overtones.

The wonderful world that Stephenie has created has obviously struck a chord with you, and I don't think it's difficult to see why. For me, her characters are simultaneously timeless, yet very modern. Rooted in a beautiful, real landscape with a great sense of place, Bella, Edward, Jacob, and the rest of the Forks/La Push menagerie, experience emotions that are primal, and universal: desire, despair, jealousy - and it all comes to fruition in BREAKING DAWN. This is a final chapter in the best sense; not just wide in scope and scale, but emotionally charged and intense throughout.

I'm a huge admirer of the already-iconic Kristen, Robert, and Taylor, and wanted to be the one to work with them as they face the challenges of bringing your beloved characters to the end of their journeys. Really, what could be more fun than that?

Please feel free to ask questions in the comments section below, and I'll do my best to answer them. I hope that this will be the first of many occasions I'll get to check in with you as we set to work bringing BREAKING DAWN to the screen. I am excited and grateful to have all of you alongside me for my TWILIGHT journey.

Bella's Engagement Ring

We all know about prop reproductions, shoot we buy them. The engagement ring is another piece of merchandise to own. This site, infinite jewelry co, is selling three types of "Bella's engagement ring". There's the Fashion Ring for $35, Fine Ring for $480, and Genuine Rin g for $1,980. The thing with this site is that Stephenie Meyer has a say in the ring's design.

Eclipse Trailer #2

Oprah debuted the second, and final (?), trailer for Eclipse that start playing in theaters on June 30 (see countdown on the right --->)

So what did you think? I was kinda speechless and had goosebumps the first few times I watched it. Now I'm really really excited for June!

Let's deconstruct the trailer shall we?

First, we've got Jacob at Forks High warning Edward and saying Bella has a "right to know". I think this is about warning Edward about keeping his family off Quileute land (Emmett crosses the line chasing Victoria and has a standoff with Paul).

Love the arial night shot of Seattle.

Carlisle's wig is epic fail, so is his accent... why does he have an accent? Maybe it's his emotions over powering him in the moment... let's hope.

The next clips looks like they're from the graduation party. There are colored lights and people are dressed nicely (except for Bella but she could have changed into one of Edward's shirts ^_-).

The groups shot of the wolves coming over some logs in the forest; I count 8 wolves. They could be Sam, Jacob, Paul, Embry, Quil, Jared, Leah and Seth.

Newborns are looking menacing... why couldn't I have been casted?! There's a ton of 'em.

Hello Volturi. Alec is looking all emo... I bet he's wearing skinny jeans underneath his tailored coat. Demetri is looking all scrumptious with his matching doublet and coat lining. And Felix has a cape =D

Since this movie is dealing with newborns, I hope we get more Jasper! He's looking fierce and he deserves some screen time after Kellan hit him in the head during rehearsal and had to be sent to the hospital.

OK, I'm really really looking forward to the "Marry Me" scene. The ring, the charm bracelet, the scar and The LOOK that Edward gives Bella... Holy Crap! If I had Rob looking at me like that I would forget my own name, what I'm doing and crap fist fulls of his hair and smash his face into mine as I kiss him senseless. You would too!!

Jacob acting all mad... I bet that's when Bella lets him know that she won't be transforming in years, but in weeks (hello heartbreak).

The Volturi in the meadow, there's a fire going in the bottom right corner. Guess they're not needed after all.

Victoria in the tree with Edward knocking it down. If you look closely, you can see Wolf Seth and a twice dead Riley on the ground in the snow. ^_^

Watching the last action sequence of the fight scene between the newborn(NB) army vs. wolves and Cullens you notice a few things. You can see Alice, Carlisle, Esme, Rosalie and Emmett in the shots... well their stunt doubles at least. Alice is easy to spot, she's jumping over a wolf (Jacob I think) as it bites a NB. You can also see her in the background on the left tugging on one as a wolf (Paul?) is jumping in the air in a "hero" shot. Also in that shot is Esme fighting a NB in front of the rock in the middle. Rosalie can be seen through the wolf's legs in the background (her blonde head at least) and Emmett looks like he's picking up a NB under the arms. Carlisle is seen all in black with this blonde afro in the far right of the shots surrounded by NBs that are trying to tackle and over power him.

It looks like Hollywood is preparing road closures on Hollywood Blvd between Highland and Orange; which is right in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre for the Eclipse premiere as stated here.

Does this make if official? If the city is going to schedule city workers and police to set up barricades and close off streets, not to mention re-route bus lines, garbage trucks, and other public services... they're going to need time to prepare and plan. We're less than 80 days away from the premiere. How long does Summit plan to wait to make it "official"? And why? They're just making it harder on the fandom by prolonging the announcement.

Surviving the Eclipse premiere

Someone just asked me to give her pointers on how to get close to the red carpet, what waiting in line is like, etc. based upon my New Moon premiere experience.

I suppose that right after I was so busy editing and uploading video from that premiere (see my YouTube channel for the videos) that I never got around to describing that weekend.

So I started writing and it turned out into a three page e-mail. So, if your planning or thinking about going to the Eclipse premiere this summer (official date TBD), look under the cut for more info. I put it behind the cut because, well it's three pages long and I didn't want to crowd my main page with a bunch of text.

The New Moon premiere was scheduled for a Monday. I, personally, didn’t get there until very early Saturday morning. I was meeting two friends who had bonded with the girls around her so at the end of the weekend it was a group of around 17 of us. The first of our group (I lovingly call my TwiFam), had arrived late Thursday night. The first people “in line” (though it’s not really a line when you’re first) got there Wednesday afternoon, took a picture of their poster, posted it on Twitter saying “first in line for the premiere” and that pretty much created a snowstorm of activity for everyone else. People weren’t planning on being there until Saturday or Sunday but when you see that a line is starting to form on Wednesday, you quickly change your plans.

The first night, I think everyone was unprepared for spending a cold night on the LA streets… literally! By the second night we armed ourselves with sleeping bags, tents, airmatresses, and warmer jackets. For Eclipse, I don’t expect it to be quite as cold since it’s a summer movie. More likely it’ll be super hot in the day with balmy nights.

The city has an ordanace that you can’t have a structure obstructing the sidewalks past 8am. So by 8am, everyone had to be awake and take their tents down and deflate their air matresses. For the rest of the time you kick back on foldable chair. I recommend ear plugs and maybe a mask for your eyes (street lights don't turn off). If the Eclipse premiere takes place in Westwood at the same theater that hosted the Twilight and New Moon premieres, the line forms around the UCLA campus. So there are drunk college kids banging on your tent, and homeless people acting crazy all at 2am. Make friends with your neighbors. Us Twilight fans are seriously the best fans out there. We watch out for each other because the security that Summit provides don’t really do much.

The days can get pretty long and boring. You’re pretty much sitting in a chair or laying a on the contrete. Some spend the time reading, making posters, checking out other people “campsite”. It’s nice to see all the people who are just as crazy for this stuff as you are. Some more so because they will travel from different countries to be there. I saw people from New Zealand, The Phillipines, Mexico, and other far away places there.

Various media will be there to take pictures or videos of “crazy fans waiting in line”. They could be there during the day but most of them were the late night local news. Our group was on E! news, KCAL 9 News and Channel 2. Channel 7 showed up as well and interviewed Cameron Bright and Kiowa Gordon (Alec and Embry) when they stopped by the line to say hello to fans.

That’s another thing: the media and some celebrities will stop by so you need to not look like you’ve been spending your nights sleeping on cold concrete. So a quick makeup bag, some facial wipes, a hairbrush and a small mirror will really help you not feel like a dirty idiot.

That’s basically what you can expect while waiting for the premiere. When the day finally arrives is when the adrennaline starts pumping.. sort-of. For the New Moon premiere, the day before (Sunday) we were told by The Man than everyone in your party had to be there in line by 4pm (ish). At that time, they were passing out little pink raffle tickets; one per person in line. These tickets were then later exchanged for pink wristbands. Both the ticket and the wristband had the same last three digits. According to my wristband, I was number 112. I estimate that were were ~800 people. The line wrapped around several LA blocks.

On the day of the premiere, you’re given until a certain time where everything you have needs to be put away (car or hotel room). A lot of us just used one or two people’s car to store our stuff then back in line you go. You really don’t want to have anymore than what you want autographed, a camera, and some water. The arrivals start to happen around 5:30ish but the start to line you up around noon.

Ok so lining up: you go in groups of 10 because that how many people fit across a single portion of the barricade. The giant barricade is made up of several bicycle rack thingys chained together. There is a group of 5 on one side and I imagine another group of 5 on the other side. 10 people across a single section, 5 sections per side. So the first 50 people were on one side and the second 50 were the front row on the other side. Me and my group were in the early 100s so were were on the “first side”, second row. (the triangles are the medias cameras pointing towards the red carpet)

So there were two “sides” to the red carpet but imagine the red carpet like a giant U with the media in the middle of the U and us fans on the outside. The bottom of the U was Ryan Seacrest’s boxy thingy that the celebrities stoped at to have a chat.

The C and B listers are the first ones to arrive. This is your opportunity to find out what you’re going to do to get their attention and get an autograph, photos, videos, etc. Once the big guns come out like the Cullens, the Wolf pack, or the Big Three, the screaming increases exponentially. I survived but it’s pretty intense. Esecially once Rob shows up.

Once you’re in the barricade, you want to sort of “protect” your spot/area. Once the celebrites start to arrive, there will be pushing and shoving. So making ample elbow room around you when you first get there might make it more bareable. You are allowed to leave your “spot” to get a snack from a local shop or use a restroom. The Eclipse premiere is in the summer so stay hydrated and wear sunscrean.

There will be people way in the back who worm up their way to the front. The people in the front paid their dues on the streets. If you’re in the back, you’re in the back. There were a few barricade jumpers. Some people who didn’t have wristbands would jump inside the baricade from the sidewalk but they were swiftly kicked out… most of the time. You want to keep an eye out for them.

New Moon DVD and Eclipse stuff

The New Moon DVD:

Because the US Postal Service is 10 kinds of fail, I didn't get my New Moon DVD until Monday, the 22nd. I had to try and not watch the special features that were posted on-line because I wanted to see it on my large screen TV.

Anyway, I had ordered the 3-disc DVD from Target and I'm pretty satisfied with it. It would be 100 times greater if Kristen, Rob and Taylor were on the commentary but oh well. I guess they didn't want to sell too many DVD *shrugs*.

My favorite part of the DVD was the featurette about the bands that were in the movie and on the soundtrack. They showed a few clips from the Hollywood/Highland cast tour event of the band performing and you can totally see me in the crowd! (pictured with the red arrows point at me) I pretty much told everyone because if you saw yourself on a DVD wouldn't you want to share the news too? Yea, so that was exciting.

The Target 3-disc DVD came with a collectable "cell". Now, I'm a really big fan of anime (japanese animation) and when I would go to conventions and comic book stores and would sell "cells" it's usually a scene of that particular show but without the background. They usually use map paintings or layer another cell below it. So just imagine a clear plastic page with some hand drawn and colored picture. That to me, is a "cell".

So that's what I was expecting to see, just a smaller version of it, in the DVD package. What was really inside was a tiny 35mm piece of film inset in a card. So disappointing. The one I have is the beach rescue scene when Jacob is hovering over Bella after just pulling her out of the water. What am I supposed to do with a 1"x1.5" piece of film? I don't own a dark room so it's not like I can blow it up and develop it. Maybe put a flashlight behind it and project it onto my wall? Lame.

Eclipse stuff:

The Eclipse Movie Companion is going to be released June 29th (amazon.com). Which freakin' sucks because what am I going to have the cast sign at the premiere which will probably be held a few days earlier (official date still not announced). Didn't the New Moon Companion come out way ahead of the movie?

Eclipse is coming out in paperback on May 25th. I own the hardback but I think I'm going to have all the paperbacks as well because I'm getting my hardback signed by any of the cast and crew I can find and don't want to lend them out to people to spread the Twilight love so I'll get the paperbacks to spread the Twilight gospel.

Official Twilight Convention

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I went to the Official Twilight Convention at the LAX Marriott Hotel. Overall it was pretty good but honestly, I don't think I would go to a convention again. One of the nice things was that I was reunited with my "Twilight Family" that I met while waiting in line for the New Moon Premiere. We're spread out on the West Coast and have all aggregated here which was really nice. It was great getting the whole family together again.

Just so you know, we bought the Preferred Weekend Package that give you mid-range seating and an autograph (on something you have) from all the people that were there at the convention. I was going to have them sign my Eclipse book but I ended up having them sign production photos so that I could frame them and hang them up. You can't hang a book. I'll just have to save it for the Eclipse premiere.

Ok so I'll summarize and highlight the best of what happened this weekend after the break below.

HIGHLIGHTS
Tinsel: I walked in a little more than half way through her Q&A but I thought she was very poised and cute. I liked her 1000 times more after hearing her speak so articulately and passionately.

Justin: He was a little ADD. That, or he drank a few Red Bulls before taking the stage because he could not sit still in his chair. One moment that stuck in my mind was the last question. She asked, "What is your favorite kung fu movie and who would you like to be?" or something like that. I remember Justin saying something along the lines of "because I'm Asian, I have to talk about kung fu". I was laughing because he was pretty much turning her question into a racial question and then trying to back pedal what he said to not sound like an ass but he just kept making that whole moment awkward. I laugh at embarrassing things and this was one of them.

Justine: Yea, I didn't know who she was either until I asked the people at the registration desk, "Whose Justin (thinking it's a boy) Wash-a-burger?". "She plays Gianna." "Ohhh...." I said, turning to my sister, "doesn't she have one line.. in Italian? Why is she here?" She is really cool and very very patient. I felt a little bad for her because they were asking her very random and awkward questions. What I remember most about her is that she had a very South Californian accent (she went to USC) which is odd because she grew up in Paris, France and admits to speaking better French than English. She didn't have much of a French accent at all.

Remember Me: Just Amazing!

Chaske: He told a few stories that I thought were pretty funny. One was answering the question, "What was the oddest fan reaction you've had?" He talks about watching a girl come up to him but get so far before her eyes roll back in her head and starts to faint. He think she's faking until he sees her head bounce on the ground and then thinks, "Oh shit, this is for real." She was out cold. When she came to, he had a private meet and great with her for a good 15 minutes, all the time saying how embarrassed she was. Another story was one of his answers to, "What was the funniest thing that happened on set?" He talked about during rehearsals for the muffin scene in Emily's house, when Tyler/Jacob walks in and stands in the back doorway; he's so focus on "being hot" that he doesn't notice that the glass sliding glass door is closed and SMACKS right into it.

Kiowa: He's very 19 and all kinds of awkward. He can't sit still either. He relates a funny moment on the New Moon set when he and the pack are playing football. He kicks the ball but his shoe comes off and hits Bronson in the face. Bronson is in make-up and the football and shoe are covered in mud. The football flies, hits a car which then almost causes it to crash. He's reaction was that it "made my day." When asked what would his Super Hero name be (90% of the question asked during the whole weekend were ridiculous), he said that he'd be named "Super Brown". One of the hosts quipped, "It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase 'What can Brown do for you?'". It was around this point that he jumps off stage and walks around the room answer questions and giving out a bunch of "Birthday" hugs. His band, Touche, sets up on stage and they perform a song of theirs. It is the most god awful noise I have ever heard. I took a video of it and post it if I can but I think all you can hear is me laughing uncontrollably.

Alex: His response to the question, "What was it like shooting in Vancouver?" was "Very nippily." I like his anecdote about putting on his make-up with Rob in the same trailer very early one morning. He's reading a movie script that is being directed by Larry Clark and suddenly he hears Rob practically whisper in his ear, "You're working with Larry Clark?" And it was funny watching him reenact what he did because obviously it was way to early in the morning for Rob to be stealthy, like a vampire, and whisper things to him in a quiet make-up trailer.

Charlie: Another in our ADD class. He cannot sit still. He admits that he can't be still. He's always moving about or giggling or otherwise distracted. He telling us that when filming Eclipse, you've got Felix looking menacing, Jane looking fierce, Alec is calculating as they're walking towards the Cullens then then there's Demetri who's staring off to the side thinking to himself "Squirrel!!" Charlie had one of the most memorable moments when a "volunteer" goes on stage as a stand in to use in a pole dancing demonstration. He asks, "A stand in for what?". She answers, "The pole." Let's just say that it was not quiet in room when Charlie starts grinding on this lucky lucky girl as he demonstrates how to pole dance.

Kellan: My favorite moment is just after he appears on stage. The crowd screams, he takes off his jacket, they scream some more and then the hosts asks the first question. He gets up and walks around the stage to answer but just as he's about to he looks down at himself and says, "Woa, my shirt is a little see through. Can you all see my nipples?" More screams. =D

Peter: Peter pretty much dazzled me. I was smiling like an idiot the entire time. I just remember an aside when he talked about flying back home from NY or Vancouver just to have dinner with his daughters then immediately flying back to the set. That kind of stuff turns me into a puddle of goo. There was a moment when it was just him on the stage, he was about to answer a question when he spotted some girls leaving the room. He yells out, "Don't leave! Kellan's coming back! I know it's boring, I'm sorry."

Costume Competition: The small kids were 10 different kinds of adorable. The adults were creative and some were hysterical. I was laughing so hard I think I might have scared the girls in back of me. They thought that my seat might tip over onto them. My sister had to cover my mouth with her hands at one point because I was so loud. =)

EPIC!!!!!

This looks so fantastic! There are so many things that I've noticed in the 3, maybe 4, times I've just watched it.

1. Rob is hot and I totally feel like he'll protect me. What a man.
2. Taylor does "broken" really really well. I really like him as Jacob.
3. Did Bryce look like Lady GaGa but with red hair? Her eyes look humungous!
4. Bella wig... she didn't have humidity issues for the first two movies... that wig is so fail.
5. Volturi: So glad they gave Dakota more lines. It lets her act. I kinda thought she just stood around in the second one. Plus, Charlie Bewely strutting his stuff. Woot!
6 - 10. Seriously, Rob. You're so freakin' hot. >_<

Oh random but I love the opening and closing title sequence. The billowing dark clouds in the beginning and the quiet snow fall in the end (or is it rain?). Loved it!

Ok, disclaimer time. I have a full 40 hour (sometimes more) job so the only time I have to submerge myself in all things Twilight is when I get home and crawl into my Twi-cave and pretty much shut out everything else. I don't get to look at/read all the stuff that's out there so sometimes things fall through the cracks.

So, first off... Summit has replaced David Slade's long time partner/editor, Art Jones, with the Twilight editor Nancy Richardson, according to Entertainment Weekly. What does this mean for Eclipse? Who can say. I'm slightly scared that Summit pretty much ran off David's choice of editors and seemingly replaced him with was seems like a puppet to do their editing bidding. Eclipse is a whole different animal compared with Twilight. It needs to accomplish so much more than have two characters fall in love and get harassed by visiting vampiric nomads. I want to know why Summit didn't like what Slade and Jones were producing to necessitate this change so late in the game. I just know that Slade is going to be asked this question when he has to do publicity for Eclipse... I have a feeling like he's going to sounds disappointed and try and brush off the questioner. A pox on you Summit!

Secondly... click on the "leaked" Eclipse meadow picture of Edward and Bella looking 100 shades of happy and tell me this.... is there a distinct wedding ring on Bella's left hand??!! It looks a lot like the replicas that Twilight inspired jewelry businesses are trying to sell: golden, oval, with a bunch of sparklies. Seriously, I can't wait to see this movie!

It's my birthday...

So it's my birthday. My real birthday, not the day that I discovered Twilight (though that should be celebrated too). I'm twenty-something and life has been good so far. It could be totes better if this yummy man over here (pictured) would realize that I'm The One, but I can be patient.

I'm thankful for my friends and family that have supported my Twi-life and my new friends that I've found along the way. Thanks for being there and lettin' me fan girl with ya'!

I'm looking forward to the Twilight convention in a few weeks here in LA, the Eclipse premier and possible going set stalking once Breaking Dawn is green lit.

It's here at last!! I'm been drooling over this for a long long time. It pairs my two obsessions: Twilight and anime/manga (Japanese cartoons and comics).

According to Entertainment Weekly, they've announced that Yen Press will release 350,000 copies of volume 1 of the Twilight graphic novel on March 16th 2010.

Stephenie Meyer gave an interview with Entertainment Weekly that will appear in this week magazine addition available for purchase Friday, Jan 22.

Fan Fictions, DVD, and Twi-dar

I love to read. A lot. That's probably an understatement but my vocabulary is failing me right now.

I've been reading fan fiction like crazy as evidence when you check out my fan fiction blog post. I'm updating it almost every other day with a new story that I've read. I was in a slump for new stories but then I got active in Facebook and there is a group called Twilight Fanfiction Recommendations. My dry spell is no more. Lots of good stuff there.

Also, I found an really easy program to download entire stories from fanfiction.net. I have a Mac so I use DownloadedStory that I got for free from cnet.com :-D There's a similar program that you can download for PCs too.

Summit has just official announced that the Special 2 Disc Edition of New Moon will be on DVD and Blu-Ray on March 22nd!

In the January 22, 2010 issue of Entertainment Weekly, Stephen King mentioned New Moon in his bit to explain the Movie Blurb. You know when they say "The best comedy of the year!" "Magnificent!" etc.

Well, he had this to say which caught my Twilight radar (Twi-dar)

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Lots of stuff I haven't added my two cents on (Taytay on SNL, Rob and Emily going Vogue, etc.) and probably will be to lazy to write something up. The holidays are here which means Twi merch! I've already received the New Moon Game board and it's pretty good except for two Trivia Cards which are absolutely wrong and ridiculous and my piece only came with 6 game pieces instead of 8, but it's pretty fun and engaging.

You probably won't hear from me until January, or if Rob's secret photo shoots leaks, so until then, have a safe and happy holiday season.

New Moon is out... now what?

It feels like I've been waiting forever to see New Moon. Now that I have (several times), everything seems anti-climatic. I've looked at the interviews and "spoiler/leaked" footage that came out before the movie and it's like "yea, I remember that bit." Though I'm really really glad I remained spoiler free!

It feels a little early to get hyped for Eclipse. I'm still coming down from my New Moon high. I have a ton of Twi-related stuff to do but even with all that, I feel a little lost.

In no particular order, I need to:
- Save a bunch of HQ photos that are coming out (magazines, photo shoots, events...)
- There's a bunch of fan fiction chapters I need to catch up on.
- I need to re-read Eclipse now.
- Catch up on all the Twi-blogs since I went on a spoiler strike a month ago
- Make another Midnight Sun copy and/or hand bind another fan fic favorite

But I can't find the excitement/energy to do any of it.....

I might need a break from Twilight. (OMG I can't believe I just said that...)

Maybe it's like I need to feel the withdraw of Twilight before I can get in my super-fan mode. Or maybe all that camping out and staying up at night is finally catching up with me.

Or maybe not. I've downloaded a cam version to see the movie and I watch it whenever I can, usually just the Edward parts. I listen to the soundtrack and the score on repeat everywhere I go, including work. I think about Rob... a lot. Sometimes when he's Edward.

I need a Twi-pick-me-up and get re-energized! I need a Full Size Edward or a mini-E to have adventures with. haha
